I don't think centers are the future of the game. The amount of wing players who have lead teams to Championships over the last 20 years is greater than great centers (perhaps take Shaq/Kobe out of the mix as they split even). Any of the four though will be exciting. Think about just how different each will make our starting lineup:

More big men have led their teams to championships over the last 20 years than wings. Dirk, Garnett, Duncan (4), Shaq (3 or 4), Hakeem (2), and the Wallaces. If you take out Shaq's with Wade and the Pistons, you're still left with 11 championships out of 20.

If anything, the one position that's held very little value in this regard it's point guard.

Agree about point guard, but I'll clarify my position on what I said below. I never used the term big men. I said centers. The point I am trying to make about center is that you better hope Embiid is more Duncan/Hakeem and less Dwight. He has the grace and the offensive moves to be like Duncan, but I worry he is just another Al Horford.

I know you said centers, but that doesn't make sense given the context of your argument because wings pertain to shooting guards, and small forwards. If you want to argue it that way, centers takes the cake in a landslide.

Do you really think KG was more easily replaceable than Pierce?

I don't look at it like that. Both of them were integral to Boston's success. Without pierce that team lacks a guy who can consistently create a shot for himself and teammates at a high level (in addition to the good defense pierce provided on the wing). Without a perimeter player consistently providing that on offense you can't contend. Boston isn't a contender without either Garnett or pierce, so I have a hard time saying "KG led boston to the title" because it totally diminishes what made them so good, their team effort and balance.

Well, you can also say Duncan is a PF, as he is sometimes listed and used in lineups, if you want to decrease that number. I don't want to argue those semantics. On the other hand, I would say a lot of PF play is closer to wing play than center play in today's NBA. Look at Lebron playing PF at times against various lineups. Dirk plays offense much more like a SF than a traditional PF. The stretch four has become more valuable than the banger four. I think the wing players in the draft play more to that usage, whereas Embiid is perhaps more of a classical player. I haven't seen enough of him (certainly have not watched every game), so I would love to be proven wrong, but those are my concerns.

I can see that.

Still, since we are talking about bigs, another way to look at it is that they were a team that had arguably the best big man in the game that year (top 3 at worst). KG was phenomenal defensively for that team and he also led them in scoring in the playoffs (and he was, of course, also a great passer and an excellent illegal screen setter).

They aren't a very good example of a team that won without a big being their most important player.

1.) Embiid
2.) Wiggins
3.) Parker
4a.) Smart
4b.) Exum

Like I've said before, I think Wiggins has the greatest chance to be a disappointment so I could easily flip Him and Parker but this is it for right now.

I honestly believe that the more we're talking about Embiid vs Wiggins that one of the TOP PRIORITIES for the new owners is getting a competent medical staff prior to the workouts!

1) Embiid

2-4) Wiggins, Parker, Exum

I'll get 2-4 squared away come May 20 when I know I need to, or when I get a chance to re-evaluate these three. Whichever comes first. I will probably include Vonleh, Smart, and Gordon in my scouting if we get #4.

I'm all for kerr. Heard he's tight with Phil Jackson though so the bucks better come fast and strong if they want him.

No kidding.

But how quickly can they do that though? Before the draft? Maybe. I'd want to if i were them, considering what this pick could mean to their new team.
These next couple months will be interesting.

If our pick comes from Embiid, Wiggins, Parker or Exum we'll add length and the ability to get up and down the floor. Will be fun to see any of them get out on the break with Giannis. Embiid would be my #1 assuming his back checks out, although Parker/Wiggins excite me the most.

Exum just signed with Adidas... HUGE red flag. If he was going to be any good he would have signed with Nike. #expertanalysis

Well to be fair that pretty much guarantees that he'll blow an ACL within his first 5 years.

Or they could just call him.

Probably easier and better for the environment.

If I'm picking based off of selling tickets and marketing....

Wiggins
Parker
Embiid
Exum

If I'm picking based off of building my team for the future and who would allow the bucks more freedom w/Giannis...

Parker
Embiid
Wiggins
Exum

I really like Parker's game and feel that he still has so much basketball skill growth left in him.

If embiid is drafted by the bucks does anyone know of any trade possibilities that make sense for Larry?
