Nothing but the best next year.

Post#1 » by cammac » Fri Apr 18, 2014 4:07 am

The Raptors had similar problems but getting a Masai was a steal for us and while I'm not a fan of Casey he is a excellent defensive coach.

We had our Smith in Gay both gifted players but need the ball to the detriment of others.
Every player can be traded the Raptors got rid of both Bargs and Gay in less than 5 months.
They got more financial flexibility, a deeper bench and NYKs 1st and 2 seconds along the way.
After the trade Ross and Jonas got more & more burn and contributed to the team.
Lowry & DeMar emerged as top players at there position.
A small trade deadline trade helped getting De Colo for Daye and that was one of respect for the player De Colo and respect SAS had for the Raptors for a player they liked but didn't have space for and to land him in a positive team that could use him.

I hope you move up in the draft would like Detroit or Bucks get Wiggins both teams didn't deliberately tank.

Think you might get Vogel as a coach if he doesn't reach the finals Bird will fire him to deflect blame.
Think getting a good GM is tougher but don't go retread route.

Hoping to see Detroit in play-offs next year and if any of you wish to make the Raptors your play-off team you are more than welcome on our board.

I'm half praying Pacers flat out continue to play their slump in the playoffs so Vogel gets fired.

I'd rather we hire SVG as Coach and JVG as VP/GM

Somehow get Redick from the Clips, retain Monroe...

Drummond 32/Monroe 16

Monroe 16/Smith 22/Jorts & Mitchell 10

Smith 10/Singler 28/KCP 10

Redick 28/KCP 20

Jennings 32/Bynum & Siva 16

Redick as SVGs boy gets to show the kids (& Smith) how it's done.

Y'all thought I was mental wanting Korver & Redick last off-season...FML it sucks being right

Wait, people didn't want Korver? I don't remember that. I loved Korver and Jeff Teague, I was hoping we signed them. We picked the wrong former Hawk to invest in.

No way we get Redick, and why bother with him? KCP is much more athletic and could become a better player. No need to get a guy formerly coached by a Van Gundy, just land some actual wing who can shoot.

@OP, thank you for the kind words Raptors fans.

Unfortunately I want to steal Lowry away from you guys, and that might force Masai to consider rebuilding again, which would suck for you. I also want to get Wiggins as compensation for this awful season, which might not actually be bad for you since he'd be close to home and you could watch him play. And I want to see Pierce and KG match up with LeBron one last time, which would require beating you guys. So, uh, I hope that two seasons down the road that you're really, really good after a quick rebuild. Sorry. Really do appreciate the kind words though.

Its a competitive world out there and obviously you could put in a bid for Lowry but think you might have to grossly overpay $60 million for 4 years. Lowry likes Toronto and will likely get $48 million for 4 years plus he is the Alpha Dog on the team with DeRozan, Ross, Jonas and likely Amir as starters. Plus last thing Lowry wants is to get in another PG controversy.

if we land smart in the draft, and get smith off this team by any means necassary, then it'll have been a hell of an offseason. if we stole gordon hayward from the jazz, then it will have been the best offseason in franchise history.

A wing who can shoot? I do believe Redick is an absolute dead eye shooter.

And yes I was mocked for wanting any 2 of these guys last off season:

Millsap - should have gave him Smith money to come off our bench

Calderon - efficient PG that can shoot

Korver - could have got him for Jennings money

Redick - see Korver.

The big thing with all 4 of them is that they are true professionals! Not assclowns like Smith and Jennings!

You build a winning culture by acquiring old pros that can show and prove to the kids.

A coach can talk all he likes but eventually players respond to what they see from veterans. Our veterans are the worst example for Monroe, Jennings, KCP, Singler and Drummond!

No one has been here longer than Stuckey...is he the veteran you want around Dre?

That + Joe + coaching = lotto again despite having "potential" & "talent"

Still don't like Smith at SF, every minute he plays SF is a waisted minute!

All Indiana did was act smug and talk **** all year long.

"WAHHHHH we are not respected" cried Hibbert to start the season

He then goes on to finish the season grabbing LESS THAN 5 REBOUNDS A GAME including his 1 rebound performance against Miami a week ago.

Hibbert shouldnt even have sniffed the All Star game. Half his impact comes from playing overly physical and getting the calls in his favor from the refs.

Indiana is the biggest joke and the way they did Granger by trading him for Turner (who isnt even seeing playing time) was despicable

I hope Indy loses in round 1 or 2 to give their delusional fan base and players a taste of their stupidty

I was a big supporter of Pharoahs offseason ideas. And as we now know, they all would have been better than what actually happened.

@OP - I live in Toronto, so the raps are my playoff team this year. I just hope they make it out of the first round. Brooklyn will be a different team in the playoffs.

Thanks for the support bro. We're all hoping our team makes to the playoffs next season as well. And good luck against those weak a*s Nets too. I'll be rooting for you guys. 8-)
