Wait. You woundnt trade up for Parker? Why?

Must be crazy to not want to trade up for Parker. He would fit your team like a glove. Only thing is that you can't trade future first to trade up though since technically it isn't yours, no one would want Smith I would assume. Monroe would be your trade bait draft night Im assuming.

I honestly prefer Wiggins as a player much more. He's just as efficient a scorer on offense, (nearly identical TS%, A/TO, FTR), but Wiggins has a much better body and has better defensive potential.

That actually sounds like a fair trade. Tell the Celtics to give us Green and Sullinger in the deal too.

I think trying to get Green would be difficult in that deal because Smith doesn't have the highest value right now. Maybe throw in Singler (who has really won me over this season) and our 2nd rounder? I still don't think that would get get it done but it would be awesome. We could kill 3 birds with on stone; dumping Smith, getting a starting SF, and moving up a few spots in the draft.

Smart
Caldwell-Pope
Green
Monroe
Drummond

Yes please!

I think he was been ironic.

No way.

Drummond, +#8 + a future 1st for Parker is not on my list of things to do.

What do you think your going to trade? Singler for the #3 pick?

I wonder if 8+monroe would be enough to move up for parker.Whoever is picking would have to at least consider it,you get a young center and still get a pick in the top 10.I think if this was proposed on the trade board it would probably get laughed off.

To me wiggins or parker isnt the prospect that anthony davis was coming out, davis is the 1st prospect in a while that I didnt have many doubts about becoming an all star and maybe future top 2 pplayer in the NBA.The only thing that rubbed be wrong was his health concerns. But wiggins and parker arent at his level coming out.I think wiggins will be similar to mkg and parker is hard to tell.

Could we do sign n trade right now with picks? I'm confused.

Can we only do S & T during free agency period?

You've been told on multiple threads that Monroe can't be traded unless it's a sign and trade in free agency.

Oh lol, I think you're right after reading it again. My sarcasm meter must've been off. I think A Smith/8 for Bostons 5 would be a decent deal. Smith can reunite with Rondo like they want. I think Pistons fans have an extreme hatred for Smith, and rightfully so, but there will be teams out there who will think he can still contribute in a positive way, especially if that teams star playing is lobbying to bring him in. We would be moving up 3 spots. It' not like we are trading Smith for the number one pick or something.

There's always a way to work a deal. If the Pistons and Boston wanted to do a trade of Rondo for Monroe/#8 and Monroe agreed to sign with Boston when FA starts, they would just trade Rondo for #8 on draft night, and then the following week in FA Monroe signs an offer sheet with the Celtics and the Pistons agree to not match.

If you don't think backroom deals happen that bend the rules you're fooling yourselves. If two teams want to make a deal happen and all parties involved agree, they will work out a way to get it done.

Well deals like that will never happen with high profile players.

That's nonsense. You don't think there was illegal tampering/recruiting going on behind the scenes weeks before the Heat's Big 3 union? I'd say they were pretty high profile players. Monroe is not high profile anyways.

How about Rondo? And this is completely different. You're saying they should do 2 separate transactions weeks apart. Now thats nonsense.

Wow. I was actually agreeing with you DetroitPistons. If the Celtics were interested, I thought Smith+Singler+8 for Green+5 is a good idea. Good value.

No need to read too much into it paqo.

I'm not saying they should. I'm saying they could. And a Rondo-Monroe trade is not anywhere near as high profile as LeBron, Wade, and Bosh joining together. They had an ESPN prime-time special. There won't be any ESPN specials to announce that Rondo has been traded for Greg Monroe.

Oh lol, that's what I thought originally. Sorry to read too much into it. My bad. I didn't think it was that crazy of a trade. I think a deal similar to that one makes a ton of sense for both teams. Boston would become:

Rondo
Bradley
Green
Smith
Sullinger

Not a bad a start to their rebuild. That team looks pretty good defensively too.

Shhhhh.... Just smile and nod CGC. He's already convinced himself these things are normal.
