Do you have Kyle Anderson as a point guard in the NBA as well? Hell, he got farther in the voting then Smart did.

Probably not. Could be a Paul Pressey point forward, though, but we'll see. Smart, however, is a pure Jason Kidd-type PG if he's in the NBA at all.

Kidd with Smart's vision/passing ability isn't Kidd though.

Kidd without his vision and passing kinda sucks ass.

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

I could throw out a dozen other highlights exactly like this too that show incredibly advanced post footwork. If you can't see the comparisons you probably haven't watched him play.

While I do agree that he isn't physically aggressive enough on offense sometimes strength is not an issue at all. He has the same frame as Hakeem, all you have to do is Google a few pictures.

Then let's see the dozen other highlights showing ridiculously advanced moves(be aware that I think he has good feet and don't doubt that aspect of his game) Because the clip you linked to is ridiculously overrated. It's a shoulder fake and then pivoting to step through. Solid move no doubt, but the defense is nonexistent and embiid doesn't even explode strong to the rim instead opting for an unnecessary reverse layup.

A majority of his turnovers are from being knocked around physically and losing the ball or guards aggressively digging down and ripping him. But yeah, strength isn't something he could improve.

In any case we're just going to disagree on lord embiid.

With a decent jumper, yes. They are both a little short for the position, but they throw themselves around and get a lot of points in the paint.

Millsap has an advanced perimeter game and is an excellent defender too. Other than body type as college players I don't see the comparison at all.

Edit: That's a bit far I guess. Millsap isn't a bad comparison if he improves a ton. He's just looked too lost defensively for me to project him being that good.

Agreed on the defensive part, but Millsap's wasn't a very good shooter when he got into the league either.
Still, nothing is as hilarious as Randle's shot chart though.

Both Smart and Randle should inspire more confidence than Wiggins right now. One has to "hope" that Wiggins puts it together. Smart is a better defender than Wiggins as well. You can write down 15 and 10 next to Randle's name for the next 10 years.

15 and 10, 56.6% TS%.
17 and 6, 56.3% TS%
18 and 6, 55.2% TS%

Wonder when that one guy is going to put it together.

Obviously these are not all Hakeem-esque. Just examples of good footwork and it doesn't even include his hook shot, which is very good, and his jumpers that go out to 3-point range. All of those things are in the video also.

If only 15/10 meant anything unless put into context. What's the efficiency? How much is he turning it over to get that 15/10? Is he a black hole or is he involving his teammates? Is his man out producing him at the other end?

I mean JJ Hickson gets you double doubles. Hell, if we played Adrien 36 mpg he'd average one. It's an overrated statement and doesn't take into account many other things.

Also, comparing Smart to Kidd is laughable. Kidd had the best vision of any prospect since probably Magic coming in. The guy averaged 10.3 assists per 40 as a sophomore. He was an elite passer.

Yeah he has good footwork and a decent array of moves (though he still lacks consistent counters) plus good form on his J. I've never debated any of that. Doesn't change the fact that he needs to add functional strength because he gets knocked around and needs to play to contact much better.

Also, don't know if anyone saw, but the Raps second ended up being #48.

Totally agree, but he's only played basketball for a few years so hopefully he would. There's no way to predict motivation to improve, you're right about that. Only time will tell.

2. Parker - Safest pick, dynamic scorer

3. Exum - Would be a great fit on our team, but question if he would leave town for a big market first opportunity he had

4. Embiid - Would be number 1 without the back concerns, we can't afford to waste this pick on an injury riddled player

I would think if anyone would leave for a big town team of those four, it would be Wiggins wanting to go to Toronto.

I like Wiggins more as a prospect, I'm more confident with him we could build something great here that would all but force him to stay

Could we use Ersan and pick 31 and or 36 and move back up into the late teens/early 20s? How realistic could a draft day trade like that be to move back up into the 1st and get another potential core guy??

I don't even think Ersan has positive value right now.

I mean Ersan had an obvious down year but every GM knows what Ersan is capable of doing when he's playing good ball so I don't think 1 bad season is going to completely kill his value. A team trying to compete with vet players would likely value Ersan over a project rookie mid/late in the 1st round IMO.

You won't be able to convince me a guy being paid 24 million the next three years coming off the season he had last season will pull anything in trade. I'd think the only way you're getting a pick is taking on salary as well, similar to that of Ersan's. I think we're stuck with him, hoping he raises his trade value next season, and I'm really not sure he does. I'd dump him fast. Well, really I would've dumped him a couple seasons ago.

I'm more than likely being optimistic, hoping Ersans value isn't completely dead. 8mil a year isn't a cap killer, though.

If the plan to move Ersan with a 2nd rd pick was to get an extra 1st rd pick then of course we'd have to take back salary in return. I'd gladly eat a terrible contract to replace Ersan with another late teen/early 20 pick this year. I'm sure u would as well.
