We played bad and Brooklyn did not. The refs had a tight whistle but that is it. Looking at the gs game the reffing is going to be tight on all series.

The encouraging thing is we were in the game while playing like ass and Brooklyn getting a big game from Deron, JJ and Truth. And they were focused with all the rhetoric between the two teams. That won't last...

Derozan, Amir and Ross will not be this outplayed. The refs were fine.

Don't give me this bull about the referees being biased against the Raptors...there were a couple bad calls late, absolutely, but for the first forty minutes the refs did more for us than most of our **** rotation.

People always say this. I've read similar comments on PG threads when the NBA delivers an apology the next day. The NBA is won in the 4th quarter. The quarter the Raps do not get calls in. And like the OP says, it's not just how many calls but when. The momentum killing calls are killer.

I thought today's reffing wasn't bad at all. I just think our team played like crap.

The refs sucked, but I was more frustrated with the teams play on both ends of the floor.

I can't believe that this was even a close game.

No movement on offense. Porous defense.

At least they called a foul on Vasquez 3 point play. Honestly was expecting an offensive foul on Vasquez on that shot

Hand checked all game by Brooklyn. It was blatant all game and nothing was called. When we bumped them we got a foul. Sorry this was BS. Get your damn eyes checked people. Brooklyn was playing with less rules than us. F the Refs.

How does Brooklyn go the entire 4th quarter without committing a foul.
For awhile there it looked like JV was a tree and the Nets were doing their
imitation of lumberjacks swinging axes. (hacking away @ JV.

Reffing was actually decent up until the 4th quarter.

The game was biased right from the opening tip when they let KG swat it on the way up  We knew going in it'd be 5 on 6, that's what it was and the Raptors just have to be that much better. Winnable game nonetheless.

People need to stop blaming the referees for the team's shortcomings. DeRozan was bad today. Ross did nothing, Johnson did nothing. Hansbrough did nothing, Salmons was terrible, and Lowry was just average. JV was great but did have issues with turnovers. Given all of that, a little bit of "help" from the referees isn't going to change the outcome.

In the 4th quarter, the Raptors weren't worthy of receiving many foul calls - their offence was mostly forced jump shots late in the shot clock.

If the Raptors played half-decent, they would have won this game. Unfortunately they didn't. They need to learn from it and get ready for game 2.

If I was JKIDD id be laughing too at that obvious blocking foul.

Forget Kidd...Williams was laughing too...

That BLATANT travel by Pierce, SMH! how do you miss that, Ref was standing right there, really piss poor job by the refs, and Adam Silver just sitting there like nothing happened, same thing happened with the Sacto Screw Job, dude was just sitting there laughing. Let's see if DWill gets fined for flopping...

I guess you didn't watch the basketball game, must have been watching curling SMH! Reffing was disgusting AF! So many touchy fouls against Raps and no calls, If it were a fair reffed game we would have won

The non-call on Pierce's travelling showcase in crunch time was inexcusable. It was at least 4 steps. I cant recall such a blatant violation all the way from the elbow to the rim. Stern is still behind the scenes obviously. Where are the MLSE lawyers?

I know I hear you, for me the KG push on Jonas to make the ball go off him in the 4th is what really bothers me the most. The ref was right there too, how don't you call that?

I saw a fan speaking to Adam Silva in the crucial moments of the 4th quarter, I'm assuming it was about the officiating. So I hope he heard some of the feedback of what us fans think.

slice the cake any way you want but with absolute unbiased officiating the raptors have a much better chance at winning this game down the stretch. yes they played horrible but come on. pierce isnt mj or lebron. he isnt the best player on the floor anymore. raptors got the 3rd seed for a reason. deal with it refs. and be fair. pp and kg can leave this series in wheelchairs for all i care. this is not 2008.

IT wasn`t that bad of a referring game today. They let them play which is great. Obviously a few WTF calls but we played horribly and wouldn`t have won with the 3 or 4 bad calls reversed

There were some terrible calls and non-calls in this game. It was embarrassing. Here's a game where non-basketball fans are tuning in, and they see pro wrestling. Not good for the game.

I'd really like to know the frequency that teams get zero fouls in the 4th quarter in the playoffs or during the regular season.
