Always.

Sabotage... lol. every other arena in the league seems to be on top of things. maybe if the backup system didnt run on the same signal as the regular shot clocks we wouldnt have the PA announcer counting down like its new years eve.
Image

thats one of the most embarassing things ive ever read. thats like less then you would expect from a high school gym in a poor neighborhood. How are your primary and backup systems running on the same signal? that renders that backup system useless. :banghead:

If that's one of the most embarrassing things you've ever read then you need to read more.
You clearly missed the lulz in my response.

i dont know i dont think it gets much more embarrassing then a multi-million dollar franchise in a billion dollar industry not being able to figure out how to get the clocks right. i mean, its not like it failed, the entire logic behind a backup system just completely went over their heads. i mean who is in charge of this? 2 trained monkeys could figure that stuff out

Really not in the mood to draw you diagrams of how shot clock and electrical systems work so you can understand what happened. Although apparently 2 trained monkeys wouldn't need diagrams..

what diagram is needed.... its pretty basic:

"hey, you know everything in place that makes the shot clocks work?"

"yeah."

"Make sure the backup shot clocks aren't reliant on any of that"

"got it"

You're right.
Keep in mind that when you go back far enough on a system everything becomes connected to one source. :D
The untrained ESPN monkey shouldn't be allowed through customs ever again.

False. you can have a complete stand alone system in place for a backup. one that doesnt rely on any power, network, or sync from the arena. in fact - this would be an ideal solution.

Hell i could mcgyver together my own with a hotspot, lcd screen, and $99 dewault generator

Hell you could probably get enough energy from a potato to power a small digital clock

Once again you're right. One could be powered through solar power and the other through wind turbines. One would never rely on the other. You're on a roll here.

you know, or just not share the same cables and outlet.

either way its all good now, they said they will have it sorted out for game 2. maybe they will have a big fat guy with 25 flash cards numbered 24 through 0 just discard them 1 by 1 before some other guy rings a cowbell or something.

Clearly the real cause of the outage was from how loud the ACC was inside and outside the arena...

Charles Barkley is on the Raps in 4 bandwagon! This obviously can be the kiss of death, but still!

What's funny is, all these talk back and forth, all these threads, will all be forgotten by April 27, 2014 Sunday at exactly 9:30 pm. Lol

Nets in 6. Too much star power and Brooklyn has been playing really well at home as of late.
