As a fan of a different team than the suns once the phoneix suns were eliminated from playoffs my first thought was : this is a backbreaker for this team after playing so determined and that they would have less fight in them.
But then after thinking about it I realized that to even be where they were had to have taken a real leader on the bench to get then this far and keep them in the race when minnesota was threatening and later as the grizzlies were coming on strong.
These players will not regress under the disappointment, bledsoe will continue to grow ( they have basically declared he will be a sun next year ) , goran dragic will want to prove this last year wasnt a fluke, the morrises, plumlee and len can all improve and green will be optimized. And a few draft picks.
Im not sure about frye or any other players that are in his situation but the future looks really good. Hornacek has the "infectious-we can do this" vibe of a scotty brooks woth okc when they were coming up and also has tactical smarts.
Simply put
Phoneix fans should be proud of this team, it has a lot of room for growth and what could be the next gregg popovich in It. Which is why I would declare that they will make the playoffs next year. Good fortune awaits.

The Phoneix Suns Bright Future from an outsiders perspective
I came here to do two things: get lost and slice **** up & I'm all out of directions.

Thanks for the thoughts. I agree. I think not making it will leave them hungrier to improve in the offseason, prove they deserve their spots (knowing we have new guys coming in and 2nd year players improving - Archie Goodwin along with Len).
Also, there are other silver linings, such as their own pick being 14 as opposed to 21. It was a largely successful season by almost any measure based on projections. We definitely look like we have the right coach in place, a team that loves playing for him, and love playing together, plus a bunch of assets and picks in the next two years.

You guys wildly exceeded my expectations.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Hornacek is not Popovic… nor close to him… but thats fine.
Does Hornacek have a chance one day?.. of course.
If anyone can be close to Popovic one day, why not Hornacek who Popovic respects highly.
Let's be honest here….. Popovic would bench Green a lot, launching shots… difficult shots… sure he makes them hence why he has gained a lot of respect this past season. BUT darn it… Popovic is about system and players getting GOOD looks and taking advantage as BEST as possible of those good looks.
Am I thankful for Green hitting those shots?.. damn right!
But I'm also first to admit, when he launches those shots and a couple of players are open on the corners… I usually yell "NOOOO"…. then when he nails it… I yell "GGGREEEENNNNN!!" as if I was a believer from the start lol.
Also the Suns rely too much on fast breaks points and a bench player getting hot (Morris etc)… to get wins…
Popovic isn't about that…. he is about SCIENCE of the game…. OPEN LOOKS = GOOD, WILD UNPLANNED SHOT = BAD.
Its about repeatability…. Popovic always makes sure he has 2 shooters to draw out the defence, has a penetrator in Parker or Mills… and inside guy to draw attention to or take advantage of the lack of defensive focus…. Suns aren't very good in ball rotation either… and Spurs are the opposite… they rotate the ball best in the NBA.
So… regarding Hornacek being the next Popovic….dont quiet see it.
But he has his own style and its a work in progress..

Always nice to hear positive things from fans of other teams. Thanks for the kind words and all the best to your own respective teams (as long as you don't root for the Celtics!)
