would you do this Drummond trade?

Post#1 » by coolness » Mon Apr 21, 2014 2:08 pm

4 team trade that sends him to the Western Conference to Phoenix.
Phoenix pays us, Chicago, and Charlotte while finding Jerebko a home next season.

Det out: Drummond, Jerebko
Det in: Alex Len, our 1st from Charlotte, 4 mid-1st's (14th, 16th, 17th, 19th)

Why? a clean slate with Drummond exchanged for Len, our pick returned and 4 mid-1sts. keep our 2015 pick and have much cap space and trade assets.

I would have to do it and still hope for Jennings/Smoove for Amare's expiring.

Then trade 19th, 38th and Mitchell to Atlanta for 15th.

Roster
core: KCP, Singler, Monroe, Len
meh: Bynum, Siva, Datome, Harrelson, Amare (might buy out Amare)
hmmm: 8th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th

Do we win, lose, or draw?

Now I'm not sure on the fairness, but Phoenix needs a higher caliber player or two to become a higher caliber team. Drummond sure gets them that.

Without a Drummond extension impending, I could also see trading for Joe Johnson instead of Amare. Maybe they would throw in Livingston somehow.

I remember when a certain person said that we had a chance that Bosh or CP3 could come here. Ahahaha.

But onto the real topic: No thanks. If we really were having a clean slate, clear everyone out except maybe Dre, KCP, Singler, Siva, and even Greg.

* Len
* a new home for Jerebko
* our top 1 protected 1st of 2015 (or possibly the 9th pick this year if the balls screw us)
* 4 mid-1st's

And hey, if it's bad, it's bad. Trying to think outside the bun.
It would balance the team in a way, but we still would need Smennings gone imo. :/

I didn't put what else Phoenix would give out to Chicago and Charlotte. Maybe a Morris apiece would do it. Not sure... I wonder if the Taint Board would say the Pistons are getting over here. :D

For giggles... will anybody else make a fanboy trade with Drummond going out? It would be interesting.

I'd trade him for those two plus the Brow. As crazy as it sounds I don't know about Lebron, I think he'd opt out and go to the Clippers or somewhere else so fast it'd make our heads spin.

You don't trade $2 bills for a bunch of quarters. OP's original deal is garbage.

I'm pretty much at the point where I know the answer is no, before I even open up a "Would you trade Drummond for..." thread.

I thought the exact same thing, my mindset has shifted from going in thinking "would I do the deal?" to "how ridiculous is this going to be?"

Forgot about Davis. Yeah, I'd do that deal as well.

Drummond, in terms of trade value, is probably top 10 in the league.

Nothing personal but...this might just be the worst trade proposal I've ever seen on the pistons board.
