Hard for Raps fans to talk 50 pages of useless **** now that they're losing. I think they realized their team actually has to win a game before they start spouting off.

Looking forward to game 2.

So true. I don't think I saw him pull off that kind of move all year.

That's kind of his go to move. The difference is he usually does it starting with a pass from the high / mid post and goes to work that way. Like he does it very first highlight in this video here against Wade (he gets fouled and misses - but it's the first I remembered off the top of my head).

Pierce has some great moves in that area. What he's really gotten good at though in his older age is those trailing 3s with a hand in his face. That's why he's become such a good small ball 4 and I think the Raptors need to counter that by going small ball sometimes too to match up with that threat. He has a great ball / head fake, and he can absorb contact well at the rim. So if you have a big having to rush out and close out on him, he's likely going to get fouled on a fake or just go by the guy and get right to the rim despite being so slow.

Yup. He's a fantastic player with a load of deceptive moves. Also the bane of my existence as a Raptors fan. That man has had many, many standout games and plays against the Raps. Although I guess the same can be said for practically any team in the league.

I see him slowing down a bit in game 2 though. Something in my gut says it's going to happen.

Meh. It was page after page of trolling and they were having fun. No harm in that, really. A lot of it was trashing on Brooklyn's fanbase, which isn't cool, but most of it was pretty light hearted. I think in reality they knew what was going on, they were just having fun while things were good. If the Raptors win game 2 the fun will resume.

What are your thoughts/predictions on game two? I ask you as you seem to be fairly objective, love of Pierce aside.

An inexperienced raptors team is not going to win on the road in the playoffs against one of the best home teams in the nba

Love of Pierce, sure. I'm a Celtics fan. Can't root against him, but I can be critical of him or anyone else, no matter whom I support.

I think the Raptors will win game 2 (although I do still think the Nets take the series). It's pretty unrealistic to expect a young team with an enthusiastic home crowd lose BOTH of their home games to start a series. I think the Raptors' young guys (i.e. all of the important players) were a bit shook in that fourth quarter. Nets have a lot of vets and their game doesn't really change a whole lot from quarter to quarter. They've built up that consistency. Game 2 I expect the Raptors to come out stronger than game 1 and build up a lead, but they need to figure out rotations and matchups to keep it. Because the Nets have vets that will keep coming at them and be fairly consistent. It's really up to the Raptors to figure out which young guys are producing and feed the hot hand.

How did Hawks-Pacers get TNT while this series got NBA TV? Best series of the first round imo. Can't wait. Going to put this game on one tv and Bruins on the other.

This is why Raptor fans have developed such a complex. We've been consistently shafted by the American media in spite of the teams situation. There's no way there's more interest surrounding the Hawks-Pacers game than there is the Raps-Nets. Ridiculous.

the teams are too evenly matched for there to be any assurances. this series has legs and hca and experience won't mean as much as the adjustments that the teams make.

Do you have a crystal ball to make these predictions? The Raptors won in Brooklyn earlier this year, they can do it again. Especially considering the age of the Nets.

Hello Brooklyn,

Trolling aside I wanted to share something with you because I think it would go a long way in understanding the dynamics of the Raptors organization's current goals and the fan base mindset. I know you'll understand because at least some of you on the Brooklyn board share some similar feelings because you've been in similar positions yourselves.

Example From Nets Board:

You know, ESPN NY is as biased as they come. The Nets win a big game 1, IN THE PLAYOFFS, and the first two headlines are recaps of the Yankees and Mets REGULAR SEASON GAMES. If it was the Knicks that won game 1, they would be the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd stories.

Ridiculous.

You would think they would pay a little more attention to the NBA playoffs, specifically to the one NY team that's actually in the NBA playoffs.

Even yesterday on ESPN radio they were always sneaking in Knicks discussion.

The Nets have a long way to go in this area, sadly.

Good luck with your fights, and maybe you can support or at least understand ours... (after the series of course  )

Have a look at this article, it's not from the tabloid-style-headline-grabbing Sun newspaper that you have now become familiar with.

http://www.thestar.com/sports/raptors/2 ... tment.html

Quick Preview - Do read the rest at the link though!

There is so much more to these NBA playoffs for the Raptors than just the post-season.

There are messages to be delivered and notices to be served.

If general manager Masai Ujiri might have been a bit intemperate with his “Eff Brooklyn” statement before Game 1 of the series with the Nets, he was simply standing up for an organization that needs to command respect from a league that hasn’t shown much of it in the past half decade.

There is more public fight to this group, more feistiness, more standing up for itself than it’s shown, more “We’re fed up and we’re not going to take it any more.” From front office personnel to players, coaches and support staff, it’s as if they’ve finally had enough of being slighted. The first post-season appearance since 2008 is a perfect avenue to get that out.

That said.. Go Raps. Boo Brooklyn. AND F*** ESPN.
*Hope you share this with your other Brooklyn brethren.

The Nets had a higher home and road attendance percentage for 2014 than the Raptors. I don't know where people are getting their information from.

Most (not all) of the Nets fans on this forum pick and choose when to post. For the most part, it's quality over quantity. I can speak for most of my fellow Nets fans when I say that we don't feel the need to post every single thought or frustration or answer every "shot" or slander at our team.

We respond and debate when necessary but we're not going to get to high after a win or too low after a loss. I'm perfectly happy with the Nets fans on this forum and even though we aren't as many as the Raptors forum (don't think any fan base on here is as big) we're still a group of mostly quality posters, and I'll take that any day.

Hey man, I just opened up to you and ya'll still fighting.
I guess we'll get back to it.

The Raptors had the 10th best total attendance this season at home. The Nets are at 17th.
The same rankings apply to average attendance at home, 10th and 17th.

The percentages you're quoting... Raptors at 92.2% and the Nets at 95.3% for home games only show how much of the available seats were filled. You were closer to the maximum capacity of what your stadium can hold. Maybe you have more Nets fans than we have Raptors fans but you need to find other stats to make your point.

You beat us in away attendance numbers. No doubt. Considering the Nets were being showcased as contenders and the Raptors were supposed be tanking for Wiggins... no surprise there. You have a hall of famer coaching two other hall of famers. You got us beat on the draw factor.

In away games the Nets average attendance is 8th. The Raptors.. 29th!

I won't touch the combined away/home stats 'cause I'm not personally satisfied that would be representative of much since we can already see our rankings for home and away.

But for fun... our home stats are so good that they more than make up for our abysmal away attendance.
Combined stats put us at at 15th, the Nets at 16th.

This is not a shot at your fan base just showing you how you were looking and relying on stats that don't mean what you thought they meant. :D How close to capacity you can fill a stadium is irrelevant because each stadium has different capacities.
