yo, I have a friend who is battling a serious disease and I want to help him out. not sure what stage of cancer it is but he has been working hard to get financial aid and I don't mean begging or asking for money. he has been selling stuffs, food, selling his album (he is a musician and a great one if I may add), benefit concerts were held for him by friends and other mainstream acts. he's only 23.

I'm thinking of helping him out by showcasing his talent on television. this may open opportunities for him that can aid with his recovery. I'm planning on contacting a tv station and sending them a sample of his work and they can feature his talent in one show. of course it will be hard not to highlight his health condition and I'm afraid the opportunists will see this as an income generator. I want his story to inspire and his music to be recognized but I don't want him to be offended in any way. and having the opportunity to play with famous musicians, I doubt they haven't considered this idea as well to help him out.

what could be a nice gesture?

i'm actually working on getting an shorter version of my professional paper published in my school's student review - which i'm actually on the board of and we just started it this year and it will be the first issue at the end of the semester

i'm also co-authoring a paper i wrote in undergrad with a former professor of mine that we're going to submit to a journal, that's taking a backseat while i finish up grad school though
