Chances of Pau going to Knicks? Lance Stephenson to Lakers?

Post#1 » by TruSkool » Thu Apr 24, 2014 6:07 am

What are the chances of Gasol joining melo, phil, and the triangle offense in New York? He would be the focal point on offense along with melo. Something he probably would highly consider if the knicks do offer him a contract. Some of the things he said he wants is a longer term contract, a slower paced offense in which he is featured, and a team capable of winning a championship.

As for lance stephenson, it seems like his time in Indiana might be done, and he's a free agent next year. What are the chances the pacers pass up on this head case and Kobe polishes him? It may be a pretty good idea and a lock at SG for the future, perhaps at the right price.

Lance acts as a ball handler in the half court, kind of like Iguodala. Would conflict with whatever image of Exum's future yall have.

Unless Phil pulls a disappearing act with one of their big contracts or can trick Mitch into taking one of them, Knicks only have $2.5 million to spend so Pau is out of their range.

Lance apparently got in a fight with Evan Turner before game 1. Im not sure I want a guy like that in the team.

Yea no to Lance. Hibbert was referring to him when he said players were being selfish, and he fist faught with Turner. Probably not the best option.

He may be a headcase... But he's also a damned good player... I have a hard time believing his stock has really fallen that far but if it has, he could be a lowish risk high reward player.

Now's the time to try it while Kobe's still here and throwing his weight around.

Stephenson is exactly the smash mouth a**hole that you want next to Kobe Bryant. Kobe would love to have someone like Lance on this team. I love the pacers but they are a soft team. Lance would help Kobe move to the sf position and also help defensively. I am all for signing Lance. We need tough players.

I could see Lance fighting Kobe lol...but anyways Pau said he wants to join a contender or winning team, that should rule out the NYK pretty easily. Even with Phil at the helm, next years team is pretty much gona be the same core, there's no way to get rid of Amare, Bargani, Felton. etc. w/o NY adding incentive which they have none and if Pau thinks LA media/crowd is tough he's gona be crapping his pants on a nightly basis in NY if he comes up lame like he has here in LA from time to time.

Pau's not winning a championship with the combined defense off him and Melo at any combined positions.

Also people need to stop thinking that ball players are baby sitters.

Kobe can't change a man's work ethic they have to desire it and have to be in a environment where BS is not tolerated, and improvement is promoted.

It would depend on if Lance respects Kobe like Artest and Barnes did. Somehow though I don't see it with him. From everything I've read and observed about Lance I would not want him near this team. I would prefer we stick more with traditional Laker style with some San Antonio mixed in. High character high intelligence guys who can handle spotlight with hard work ethic. Guys like Steve Blake and Kobe are fiesty competitors and tough guys even in practice, but they handle themselves off court well and between teammates and media. Artest was crazy, but he was a personable guy, and for the most part great off the court. Barnes was a fiesty guy that had some temper and wasn't perfect off court but he played hard, was always humble about his role, and worked with teammates. Noah is a firey guy and clashes with a lot of players and media, but he's fiercely loyal to his team and teammates. Those are all cases that are far from what Lance is. There is a lot of talk that he is the main reason for their struggle and decline, and you could see it as soon as he got a lot of talk for his triple doubles. Give him more money and I think he's nothing but trouble. He's an angry version of JR Smith. I'd prefer we keep our team knuckle head free.

Knicks would have to pull a sign & trade and there isn't anyone besides Melo I would want from their team. Lance is a nice player and I would mind the Lakers getting him as long as it is at the right price. Don't want to over pay for a player like we have in the past (Nash, Walton, Brian Cook).

Or Kobe. Maybe Kobe can be amnestied. Then the Heat Big Three can opt out and go to LA and play with Embiid or Exum when you win the lottery. Melo would probably opt out too for a chance to play with Lebron. Heck, Kobe might even take a pay cut to help win another chip for you guys!

Lance is a bad idea for you guys. I really want Phil to sign him in NY. He'll look good next to JR Smith and I'm sure he'll thrive back in The City!

I'm the worst, a Sixer fan for 35 years who lives in Boston. FEEEL MY PAIN! I'm pretty convinced that LA and Boston will pick first and second in the draft and that NOP will pick third and we'll lose their pick this year. Actually, I don't buy into the conspiracy stuff...

I remember Magic playing Center as a rookie when Kareem went down in the Finals against the Sixers. 42 freakin' points!

I'm looking forward to watching LA and Boston rise from the ashes along with the Sixers! I want a fair fight when we pound you both!

GOOD LUCK IN THE LOTTERY!

Ron Artest was already used as Lakers amnestied player.

Stephenson has the moxie but dude is just being a bull head as of now, I need to simmer my thoughts on him through the summer to know if I would want him.
