Just saw he is declaring. With the positive drug test, back injury, and limited upside he may just fall. I would love to pick him up as depth..we need our Tyler hansbrough.

Wait, we're talking about EG making the pick, right? Do you honestly think we'll have a second round pick when the draft comes, and if so, that it will be actually used as opposed to getting yet another eurotrash, er, eurostash?

A move to acquire him would be a bet that he is about due to mature as a player and grow past most of the mental/emotional limitations that have held him back.

It's a risk that I would make, but it's probably an impossibility at this point. Cousins played well enough this year that Sacramento probably wouldn't trade him for anybody on our roster.

I just don't see anything to give indications that Cousins is maturing. If there are such indications, Sacremento never trades him. If they do trade him, its because they see nothing in his near future that indicates a positive attitude toward playing team ball.

In that sense, it really would be an uninformed gamble. And it could doom our team for the time Cousins wears a Wizards uniform. I'm just not seeing the potential rewards as worth that. At this point I'm happier surrounding Wall and Beal, and please please let Porter amount to something (Nerlens Noel not) - with reliable vet talent. This strategy gets us into incremental improvement mode, and hopefully positions us to snag another All Star that doesn't want to spread hatred and discontent every time he can't pass his gas fast enough.

A prime Cousins/Wall/Beal with a good team around them are Eastern Conference Favorites, how exactly is that not worth whatever it is you think the downside is? Even if he did whatever imaginary thing you guys are afraid of, he'd still be tradeable. This isn't a Beasley level talent/headcase, this is a dominant force, he will always be desired by others.

Anyways, I don't see how DMC would be available. I can see situations where Gasol or Horford become available in the next 12 months. Maybe you pry Vucevic in a year? Having Otto turn into something is pretty crucial in terms of us having anything to offer another team in a trade.
