WaltFrazier wrote:You could see how the NBA system of rigging games works tonight. Besides getting JV in foul troble all night, there was a sequence near the end where the raps had got close, and the reg bailed out DWill twice in a row. Once he got awarded a shooting foul when replay clearly showed no contact, then the same ref banged Vazquez with a quick T for good measure. The next possession he again bails out DWill who was trapped in the backcourt on the sideline. No foul there but he called one. Again you can hear Jack pointing these things out, biting his tongue. Williams almost blew it by missing both the 2nd pair of fee throws, but that doesn't change what the refs, or maybe just the one guy, Mott is it(?), was doing.

It isn't scripted like WWE of course, it's still a sport. But the refs make a difference of what, 5 points? 10? A team that isn't the league's choice to win has to overcome that kind of deficit to still win. We came close tonight.

I said to my wife that the refs wouldn't allow the nets to go without scoring on the play Vasquez got the tech. By now it's clear we're playing against 2 teams.

1. They reviewed a play 10 mins after the fact and deducted 2 points, that's a first.

2. They give Vasquez a technical after getting hip checked by Deron, ball don't lie.

3. Lowry gets a bloody nose after Livingstone elbows him and he gets sent to the line.

4. 3 offensive fouls calls in the 3rd qtr in the span of 3 mins that were questionable.

It seemed every time we made a push the refs killed the momentum. I'm blaming the refs.

What do you want them to do, stop in the middle of the game to check it? This is standard in all NBA games. Review questionable 3's and shot clock violations at the next timeout unless its less than a minute left.

Are you serious? I've watched every playoff game, why aren't the refs checking plays from the Clipper GSW series? There's been a number of those plays, especially a couple with Blake.

How about the plays with the Rockets Blazers series? While were at it why not all of them? They have yet to have checked a play 10-15 mins after the play is over. It's just weird they chose this game to do it.

If its a play that should be reviewed, that shot-clock would've went off and caused a delay in game. It is actually very uncommon that they were to look at a play that passed 10 minutes ago and deduct points.

Also the timing was perfect for the Refs don't you think? Raps cut it to 4, oh a foul, and btw that play earlier didn't count Raptors.

100% standard - they wait for the first commercial or quarter break to review shot-clock violations and 3pt/2pt decisions, then they deduct or add points as necessary.. unless it's the 4th quarter, of course.

They do that all the time with 3 pointers that were actually long twos. They always wait until the next break or timeout to look at it. I seriously don't know what your complaining about.

Are they questions of whether they got the shot off in time? Because I've watched the Clippers GSW series and don't recall very many of those happening.

And watch when the actual shot Lowry takes and the next commercial break. Because that's when they reviewed it as is standard protocol. Really doesn't help anyone's conspiracy theories.

The calls were going both ways. I can live with that.

The only thing that was unacceptable was the GV tech. That late into the game, it was bull. Should of been a play on, especially when the play before KG was swearing at the refs for the looseball foul he got.

These are all excellent. When the game is this close, you can't call a T. Particularly because KG spends all game dropping F bombs with no techs.
