9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

The only thing that was unacceptable was the GV tech. That late into the game, it was bull. Should of been a play on, especially when the play before KG was swearing at the refs for the looseball foul he got.

why didn't we just signal a technical toward the official similar to what Tyson Chandler did.

well, I think the second one might have been an intentional miss.

Ridiculous that you guys are still whining about the refs and this thread is at the top of the page. The refs were more than fair to the raps.

You know what, **** it. Forget what I said. It's all the refs fault, and it'll be the refs fault when we lose the series. This team is a fantastic team and they are not fool's gold.

Don't give up so easy. The team is fools gold. And the refs are 24 carat.

Though PP can take some of the blame, reffing was questionable far more than once in this game.

Yes the "veteran" aspect plays a part, but in the 4th quarter alone, at least 4-5 fouls were uncalled for and totally a play on.

I think there are many factors to losing the series, and I rank them as they are
1) Inexperience
2) The lovy-dovy locker room
3) The officials.

I was in the bar. Raps down 13. I said to the bar guys listen the refs will call for the raptors now so at the end of the game they can say it was even... But if the raptors get below 5 they'll call bs. Low and behold.

just wish they would call the stand out fouls instead of the questionable ticky tacky fouls, if a charge is questionable don't call it, more play ons. The calls at the end were bad but Derozen seems to draw a lot of phantom calls and that's not right either.

Vazquez Technical Foul

Post#533 » by googz91 » Sat Apr 26, 2014 3:58 am

A technical foul with 47 seconds left, Casey should have benched his ass for that. Was the reff going to change the call at that point ?

By far the most inexcusable play of the game and should not be overlooked

The call was terrible. If I was him I would have spazzed a lot worse than that.

I've also been given a tech in a street ball tournament, so that says all you need to know about my distaste for refs. On the other hand I reffed for 5 years and only gave one technical in hundreds of games. Emotion is part of the sport.

Complete Bull ****. Deron hip checked him and Vasquez voiced his opinion, the refs overeacted and blew the whistle right away.

inexcusable, especially w/ the game that tight. if the Nets lead was bigger and the game was practically over, a tech against Vasquez would've been a good thing, since it would've pumped up the team a bit and maybe motivate them to fight a little harder, but it was mighty close.

But that call should've been a no-call. Carlesimo and the other guy on ESPN said as much on the broadcast. And there was another call around that one that was wrongly called against our team.

that said, i don't really see what kind of perspective you're bringing to that. we know it shouldn't be overlooked, and the game threads have been chewing on Vasquez for that one.

Calm down, he was in the heat of the moment where emotions run high when the call was clearly a bad one. I understand it wasn't a smart move but it's not he was spewing profanity at the ref during the argument and to be honest he had a reasonable case for arguing about that call since clearly the replay showed that deron william committed the contact. It wasn't even technical worthy in the first place, bad call on the refs part, no doubt.
I like you.

this league is playing games with us....unfair T's, bias calls late, a call like that being made at a time like that...

nets fans can claim that all raps fans r unfairly blaming the refs for their losses and maybe they are, but calls like the one made tonight completely change the aspect of the game because of WHEN there being called as opposed to it being called at all....

if its called during the 3rd OK, sure
But with 47 secs left after a solid contest, you let it go, it was weak and to T grevis up afterwards... I'm not saying the league has an agenda but calls like that, being made against any team is unfair...simple as that and sports reporters have spoken on this ala stephen A and others.

He can slide with that one because it was a HORRIBLE call.

They gave us a makeup call with the DeRozan and1. Still inexcusable.
