As much as the Refs screwed us over, we were right there to win the game.

So many things could have made a difference like Patterson missing both free throws, Casey playing Salmons once again (11 minutes, -7) our team getting 17 turnovers vs 11 of their's, etc.

We can decide our faith if we want. With that said, I don't disagree that there were a lot of foul calls that should have went our way (more than the Nets at least), but you guys seem to forget that Toronto had some calls go their way too, like the foul on KG when DeRozan missed his FT, that sent Valanciunas to the FT, or Blatche fouling Patterson. Neither of those two were fouls imo.

At the end of the day, look on the bright side, we were down by 15 in the 4th quarter, and instead of going home on a bad note, we caught up and almost won the game. That should give the Raptors all the confidence they need.

Joke technical call in that spot.

It was a good tech in my opinion. It really let the refs know they aren't up to any good. The foul they called before that tech was utter garbage. He went into Vasquez initiating the contact!!! I hope they look further into that tech and the NBA is seen in other peoples eyes as a complete bush league. Next game though, I would look to definitely counter Joe Johnson with Landry Fields and play Patterson more. Ross shouldn't get any minutes and Amir should be used in short stretches his health needs to be more clearly defined...

Val
Amir
Fields
DeRozan
Lowry
Patterson
Vasquez

I don't even know who the 8th guy should be in the rotation. I would give Ross a few minutes but unless he lights it up I would DNP his ass for the rest of the series. Personally I feel he racked up enough experience, I would even look to play Nando some minutes he's has experience overseas and he can do more than Ross.

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

I don't care what Vasquez said. It's unreal to call a technical at that point in such a close game. Not to mention what a horrible call the original foul was in the first place. That referee needs to be suspended.

You don't think Garnett bearhugging Jonas was a foul? The hell were you watching?

This reminded me of the infamous Lowry 'foul' and the tech that followed. This was a lot worse because it's in the playoffs. What a joke.

When he stared back at Vasquez and yelled T Foul! I swear I wanted to knock the hell out of him and couldn't believe what I was watching.

We shouldn't have let the refs decide on our fate in the first place. Casey was outcoached by a rookie, the reason we lost this game

1. They reviewed a play 10 mins after the fact and deducted 2 points, that's a first.

2. They give Vasquez a technical after getting hip checked by Deron, ball don't lie.

3. Lowry gets a bloody nose after Livingstone elbows him and he gets sent to the line.

4. 3 offensive fouls calls in the 3rd qtr in the span of 3 mins that were questionable.

It seemed every time we made a push the refs killed the momentum. I'm blaming the refs.

The tag team vet move pulled by KG/Pierce, i was actually cracking up at it like they designed it up. KG pushed JV and then Pierce got his arms ready to lock him up so it looks like JV pushed him and tied him up LOL I wanna say some stuff but I'll keep my mouth shut, I think we'll win next game, ref deserves to be suspended for basically giving away the game and it couldn't be any more clear.

FWIW, Raps +5 was the smarter pick yesterday based on how close the series was. The public was pretty much split 50/50 in terms of spread and money line. That being said, the refs allowing the raps to come back only to cover isn't a conspiracy. Most handicappers I follow and a few gamblers I know all went Raps +5/+4.5 on yesterday's game so I am not sure why the refs would sabotage the public to pay the "smart" betters?

TBH, this is the conspiracy I see

We get NO CALLS in the 4th essentially except 1 call that seemed strange. 19 seconds left in the game, Raps down 2 and a touch foul that gives us two shots is called. I find it strange that the refs make that call but only because if Patterson hypothetically makes 2 the ball goes back to Brooklyn for the final possession instead of giving the Raps full 19 seconds with the final possession.

I found it hilarious when he tried to tell the ref that JV bear hugged him instead. lol.

We always get jobbed on the calls, but oh how I will cheer on LeBron, DWade and CB should the refs usher the inferior team into the second round. All those calls they're benefiting from now will be on them instead because the league loves Miami 10 times more than that geriatric squad, not to mention karma's a stone cold mistress.

and i think that tech is ESPECIALLY questionable, considering earlier in the game, kyle lowry fouled deron on a drive to the basket and deron came up to him and started talking **** even getting in his face, trying to be confrontational... and lowry wanted none of it... lowry didn't do anything, he backed away, lowry didn't even foul him hard, he just made sure he couldn't get a shot up after the whistle because we all know how refs love continuations... and yet deron doesn't get penalized at ALL for his antics... "playoff basketball" right? then, last few seconds of the game, greivis whistled for a phantom foul, obviously is frustrated because it was a bull call and BOOM INSTANT TECH! what a crock of **** man...

I also found that call strange. I wasn't REALLY happy with patterson going to the line because I wanted the raptors to go for 3 and the win. They would NOT win in OT with those refs. I'd have rather had the Raps with the final possession down 2 than brooklyn with it and the game tied.

also, does anyone remember that "no foul" game tim donaghy talked about in his book... the one where they make a bet that the first one to call a foul owes everyone else dinner? looked like that was on last night, because early in the game when derozan went to poster plumlee, he clearly whacked the hell out of derozan's head on that play... and it ALMOST went uncalled, until, when the nets were clearly gonna get possession of it, one of the refs, WHO WASN'T EVEN NEAR THE PLAY (the dude right in front of it IGNORED IT) had the conscience to say, "nah we HAVE to call that one, it was WAY TOO OBVIOUS.) so bush league man...

Wolstat sums up exactly how I feel. The Vasquez technical only adds fuel to the fire. Do you blame people for thinking that's something up after leading the league in apologies, leading the league in fouls per game every year while playing at one of the slowest paces, and that Lowry-Kings call?

We don’t buy the conspiracy talk spouted by people like ex-convict Tim Donaghy, but the referees did something very odd down the stretch at a big moment of the game. They, or Rodney Mott in particular, violated one of the biggest requirements of their job: Don’t influence the outcome, make the calls, but the players are the show, not you. Calling a debatable foul on Greivis Vasquez inside of the final minute with the Raptors still having a chance was one thing. Not letting a professional athlete, playing in one of the biggest games of his life, vent a bit at your bad call afterward and calling him for a technical with 47.3 seconds remaining? Well, that’s just inexcusable. You can call that in a regular-season game, you can’t in a playoff outing. The conspiracy talk might be ridiculous, but when nonsense like this happens, there are always going to be right-thinking people wondering, at least a little bit, if there’s anything to it.

Could you see an NBA official calling that technical on the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder or San Antonio Spurs?

Don’t think so. It wasn’t the reason why the Raptors lost the game, but it was a brutal moment for the league.
