Anderson kind of has some Turner potential where he works best if he has the ball in his hands all the time, but he might not good enough to deserve having the ball in his hands all the time. And if he doesn't have the ball in his hands all the time, there's not a lot of positive things he can do.

Saric just declared.
“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

He has his fans on this board but I don't see him being a fit for the sixers. He would fit well on a team like the spurs

I vote Zach LaVine. He has the potential to be the best out of the remaining players. Could become a lethal shooter and hopefully become a decent team defender with his athleticism.

Too many weaknesses with the rest of players available. McDermott, Staukaus, Hood, and Young are going to be weak defensively. I don't think any of them will every even be average defenders. Gary Harris is just an average player. I don't want an average player at 10. You can get one later like a Markel Brown or KJ McDaniels. Kyle Anderson doesn't fit on this team. I feel you have to go for the risk here and take LaVine. He could be a bust but none of these players are that good to make it that bad of a miss if he does. But if he hits his potential and he becomes a Klay Thompson, that could become the difference between a mediocre team and a contender.

The next best prospect in terms of talent is Saric. Clearly.

People on this forum just haven't watched him play. They're voting for the ones who are "brand names." FYI, Lillard was anything BUT a brand name when he was in the draft.

Just from this week.

"Dario Saric advances to Adriatic league Final with a huge upset win over Red Star. 21 points (3/7 3P), 15 rebounds, 6 assists. Really bad loss for Red Star who invested huge money but comes up empty"

I also feel that Lavine has the most upside left of anyone on the draft board.

For a shooter I much prefer Stauskas over McDermott, though I don't know about taking either this early unless they show something unexpected in workouts. Kyle Anderson is not even in the lottery for the Sixers for me. This is really an area where I hope a guy shines in workouts, though someone else taking McDermott with the 9 pick is fine with me.

The McDermott contingent has rigged this poll. I demand a recount!

Kyle Anderson would be a great fit in Indiana as a SF. They don't really have a primary ball handler / facilitator given that their point guard is basically and off the ball shooter. Their strong defensive frontcourt would also serve to mask Anderson's defensive deficiencies.

Saric is someone I can talk myself out of Young for.

Kyle Anderson is next on my board, but I cheated and voted for James Young because he is the next player on my board, and I like both better than McDermott or Harris.

Me too. I have not seen very much of him, but his rep is pretty strong. I don't have a strong opinion of anyone at this point. If Hinkie likes a Young, Saric, Harris, Levine, McBuckettes, etc... Then so be it.

I really don't like any of the American prospects at this point, so I voted for a Euro.

I'm kinda torn between Young and LaVine here.

Basically which ever is the one who you think will ahve the better motor and buy into the team + learn how to defend (neither currently do), and go with one of them.

I voted Young, but I wouldn't mind Harris. Should be a good defender and shooter. I think Young has the much higher upside with his athleticism, but don't know much about his work ethic and probability of reaching that potential.

I vote Zach LaVine. He's a project but the Sixers are a great situation for him. He has good SG size, amazing athleticism, and a good 3pt shooter. He has a lot to improve on, especially his strength.

The sixers focus on player development + high upside player = gamble they should take

I haven't officially voted yet, but I have been thinking about this for a while and I think that I will change my allegiance from James Young to Dario Saric.

The fact that he will likely spend at least one more year in Europe shouldn't detract from his talent, which at this point, is probably the highest of anyone left.

Plus him not coming over next year would just help the tank which STILL needs to be our strategy this year.

Young, Saric, or Hood. Can we remove Harris and McDermott from consideration? Would be upset if either of them were Sixers, unless perhaps Hinkie traded for a third first rounder in the late teens/early twenties. Still would be against it even then. I could justify it, though.

I liked Hood the couple of times I saw him play. Maybe I didn't watch him enough? After thinking about it more, though, I would go Saric here. He projects to be Toni Kukoc-ish and that would certainly fit next to Noel. Would really need a lights out 3&D SF though to make that work even with Wiggins and MCW in the backcourt. Can Thompson turn into Tony Allen with a 3 point stroke? But I'm getting way ahead of schedule with all of that.
