It was disgusting watching some of those calls in that game and I think its obvious now why Raptors fans had concern going into the series. There's nothing GV could have possibly said that would warrant a tech there, especially when Deron got into Lowry's face on one play with Lowry not saying a word, and there being no consequences. Give me a **** break, and then I go onto the Nets board and see those bitches saying that the refs were fine? It's not about the total amount of fouls that were called for each team but WHEN they were called. It's not difficult to give us some make up calls when we're stuck 15 after changing the whole momentum of the game.

to say that there's no corruption in sports, you absolutely have to be ignorant. One thing is for sure there is no oversight in the NBA...as other's have said in order for the NBA to be healthy you have to ensure that ESPN and other Major networks recieve higher rating..with that said..

league’s current contracts with ABC/ESPN and TNT were worth $7.4 billion.
:o

Those contracts are set to expire after the 2015-16 season and the next round of deals are expected to be even more lucrative.

The home winning % in game 3 was 0.695 from the refs playoff statistics, who wants to bet that the refs winning % would be greater that 0.65 in game 4

silverhill27 wrote:Wolstat sums up exactly how I feel. The Vasquez technical only adds fuel to the fire. Do you blame people for thinking that's something up after leading the league in apologies, leading the league in fouls per game every year while playing at one of the slowest paces, and that Lowry-Kings call?

We don’t buy the conspiracy talk spouted by people like ex-convict Tim Donaghy, but the referees did something very odd down the stretch at a big moment of the game. They, or Rodney Mott in particular, violated one of the biggest requirements of their job: Don’t influence the outcome, make the calls, but the players are the show, not you. Calling a debatable foul on Greivis Vasquez inside of the final minute with the Raptors still having a chance was one thing. Not letting a professional athlete, playing in one of the biggest games of his life, vent a bit at your bad call afterward and calling him for a technical with 47.3 seconds remaining? Well, that’s just inexcusable. You can call that in a regular-season game, you can’t in a playoff outing. The conspiracy talk might be ridiculous, but when nonsense like this happens, there are always going to be right-thinking people wondering, at least a little bit, if there’s anything to it.

Could you see an NBA official calling that technical on the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder or San Antonio Spurs?

Don’t think so. It wasn’t the reason why the Raptors lost the game, but it was a brutal moment for the league.

With all the recent talk about transparency from the association, I can bet you Mr. Silver was not happy about that call.

At this point I don't take the NBA seriously and just think it's sports entertainment like the WWE. To me the NBA and WWE are not that much different with all the terrible officiating and drama that goes on off the court. I take sports such as hockey and soccer more seriously because they're more competitive and the refs never make obvious **** calls.

I have two friends who very casually watch the raptors here and there and both after game two said something to the effect of "see this is why I get annoyed with basketball and don't watch. Too many bull calls."

Bad calls have been happening for decades in the NBA, and stars have been getting calls go their way for decades. It's hardly anything new and does not point to some kind of conspiracy. If games are rigged then does it mean that the refs helped the Raptors win 48 of their games?

Like Lowe said, if you think there is a conspiracy then you should probably not tune in and save yourself the aggravation.

Quite frankly this talk about a fixed league and conspiracies are making this board look bad.

Funny how a fanbase who came over to our forum to troll, and calling the Nets bitches and pussies for resting players at the end of the season can spend 30 pages crying about officiating. At first you guys were arrogant, now all of a sudden there are evil forces conspiring against you.

There were awful calls on both ends, every time Lowry attacks the rim he flops and flails his arms to draw bull **** fouls. Please cut the crap, you guys look awful with all of this crying.

Both teams shot 37 FTs. Get over it.

Same here. Hockey fans have told me this kind of **** would never happen in hockey and I have no rebuttal. Refs decide games in this sport. It might not be part of any conspiracy, but very often they make themselves above the game.

**** off back to your board and enjoy your ref-aided, asterisked wins.

Keep in mind that your Nets mods would lifetime ban a Raptor fan instantly for posting that **** on your board next time you come over here to **** on us.

29 pages on refs? It's time to let it go. It hasn't been outrageously bad thus far.

I admit there are the rare occasions that a call or two is important to the outcome of a game, but this board blames the refs after every frickin loss. It's pathetic.

By blaming the refs Raps fans are taking the blame off the people who really deserve it; the team and the coaching staff. The Raps played like crap in game 3 and they deserved to lose. They were down by 15 with 5 min to go and were lucky that Brooklyn shat the bed and gave us an opportunity to tie the game. If Brooklyn plays half decent to close the game this would be double digit loss.

We lost because we were the worse team tonight, not because of the refs.

However, such a suit would open a MASSIVE investigation into how the NBA is run and how officiating is handled, and EVERYTHING would come out. All the dirty laundry would come out. The sheer fact that a lawsuit like such has not been carried out or even hinted at just shows that the league has something (actually, a LOT) to hide, and leads me to believe that Donaghy is telling the truth.

I only got to watch the last quarter and though the officiating was better than the previous two games, the GV fouls and the following T killed us badly.

Of course, we got a couple of favourable calls and if Pat-Pat made his free throws, it would have been a whole different ball game.
