New ESPN Player Rating - Rios 43rd

Post#1 » by OldNo7 » Tue Jun 12, 2007 4:50 pm

Glossary of the rating: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2897967

Essentially the guy came up with a formula to try and rate every player in the league equally, with batters, starters and relievers all having the same opportunity to have the maximum rating of 100. Its dependent on how that player rates among league leaders in certain categories, difficulty of their defensive position, their team success.
Players dont qualify if they arent among league leaders in any categories, and if they miss half of their team's games.

Howard is kinda having an off year. After the all star break...Howard started to become the center of attention. Guess the Home Run derby motivated him a little bit.

Yeah Howard was injured at the start of the year and even visited the DL. He has been on since he has been back.
