I think if you ask any Red Sox player they love Francona. Hell for Manny it depends on what type of mood he's in. He's a whole different type of person.
And when has Francona left a starter in this year to get killed?

Tim Wakefield? Curt Schilling? And this is just against the Yankees.

Schilling is by no means pitching well against the Yanks, but the Sox are 2-1 when he's starting this season. Wake has just been horrible against the Yankees, and in one game only went 3.2 innings. My point was Francona is not leaving guys out there just to get beat around. Many managers try to see if a starter can get out of early inning issues.
