Yes i did, before all this happened. When dude was making 1000 words post about some players evaluation or smth like that, and had worse rating then 20:1, i usually didnt bothered to read that post...

You now have a 0.77:1 post to And1 ratio. TANKNATION has a 0.366:1 ratio. Are you both god posters? :lol:

I mean, you both could be the smartest people on here, but I guess you now see it's not really correlated with poster intelligence and insight. It's more a gesture of community, of mutual understanding and sharing of opinion.

Like others have said, the ratio doesn't indicate all that much when you realize how casually they're given out. Just have to read the posts and make value judgements on posters due to their quality instead of hoping to use the post-to-And1 ratio as a quick judgement mechanism.

I do understand your position though. It would be ideal if And1's were given to indicate post quality. While that is what they're used for sometimes, most of the time it's just something people do as a sign of agreement.

I'm sorry that you feel that way, but to some of us, AND1-ing is a part of our brotherhood on this board. It is something that we can't really explain. (For those that remember, All-Star Weekend 2014, the AND1 Button blew up for many of us!) I think it goes back to us being a raptors fan and as regular people, we need to cope with certain struggles and that AND1, although a small intangible thing, may be very meaningful as a sign of acknowledgement and belonging. Especially if you post during the game threads, it is awesome seeing all the emotion in there :lol:

Seriously I don't understand the point of the AND-1...at least to the point of obsessing about it. How about we just recognize that there are things that people will post that are worth reading and there are things that aren't. And just because someone got a bunch of clicks on the And-1 button doesn't mean that the post will be any good. Nor does someone with a lower And-1 mean it would be bad.

If someone posts an in depth retrospective on the corner 3s taken by MoPete, read it if you liked MoPete. If you don't care, skip it. And if you start reading it and blood starts dripping from your eyes because it is poorly writter or makes asinine assumptions, stop. I'd rather someone And-1 someone for saying something I agree with than seeing other forums where the quoted posts look like:
