Nets fan making fun of raptor fans about officiating and then point to free throw attempts and # of fouls as evidence is really crap. For example last night I thought we got some beneficial calls but if you look at the box score, the nets got more free throws and had less fouls called on them despite the nets intentionally fouling late.
Those raptor fans aren't complaining about the number of calls but when the calls come. I'm pretty sure some of you thought dwillz was fouled on one of those 3s at the end.
Anyways, great series so far and it was a great game.
From my perspective, I don't know why you guys want kg to play even more. As a raptors fans I get happy when he's on the court. He can't rebound when Jonas is in, can't defend the interior anymore, and is really hesitant with his jumpshot, especially late in the game last night. The only thing he does is trap derozan on pick and rolls. Whenever he's defending the pnr, that's when derozan goes on those 0-5 stretches.
Joe Johnson can't be stopped, and deron Williams is controlling the game really well. I was shocked to see his stats, because from the eye test, he looked like he was back in Utah.
I think pierce should be doing more, he has a major mismatch and at best he's only cancelling out Amir Johnson. I know he hit big shots in game 1 but I thought he would do much better.
Which raptor players seem to be hurting you guys? It's always nice to hear which raptor players are hurting your team.
I respectfully disagree with everything you have said:
1) reffing. FT totals are just one of the things we have pointed out. we also dispelled the notion that KG gets away with everything, pointing to his 4 fouls on illegal screens, 2 technicals, and fouling out of game 3 in 20 minutes. We pointed to situational calls, calls when the game was +/- 4 points, calls late in the 4th, calls that put players in foul trouble, and 50/50 calls, derozan leading the playoffs of FTA while also taking as many jumpshots as anyone in the playoffs(3rd). its impossible to say, after diagnosing all that, that the calls have been unbalanced or biased towards the nets. It sucks raps fans get generalized, but it is also hard to sympathize when fans were blaming the refs BEFORE the series started and with a 30 page bitch fest about the refs.
2) I agree Garnett hasnt been great, but he is still by far the best option of our center trio. plumlee has been terrible and blatche who has been awful in 3 of 4 games. As far as valancuinas, say what you want about his matchup with garnett, but when they are on the floor at the same time KG is +14 and val -14. and overall Val is -23 for the series, with ZERO games having a positive +/- he has put up some numbers, but overall we build, maintain or extend leads when val is on the court.
3) Deron williams is NOT controlling the game really well. he is chucking up bricks, dribbling the air of out the ball, and bring his typical dog half assed effort that he usually brings. its not unexpected when lowry outplays him. lowry plays hard, dwill doesnt. why anyone especially a raptor fan would be suprised by this is beyond me
4) Pierce has been fantastic. He was the only thing even keeping us in the game last night. He basically won us game 1, was instrumental in game 3(not to mention hitting clutch FTs to finally seal that win) and game 3 he was outstanding. im not sure how you can say he hasnt outplayed amir to this point.
As far as which raptors players are hurting us, i think its clearly Vasquez and Patterson. They have hit the big shots, cause the most pressure on our defense, and outplayed thier matchups consistently. Lowry has been good in 2 games and not so good in 2 games. Vals stats are great but have been pretty empty impact wise. Ross has been a no show. Derozan has been really good, but i also would put him in more of a "less impact then the numbers" area. him hitting long 2s at a low clip wont beat us.
Mostly Vasquez, Patterson, Lowry, and Amir at times.
