I think that's a popular superstitious belief given this city and this franchise, but only 8 teams out of 217 have surpassed the 3-1 deficit.
Throughout the history of the NBA, we can't be the only ones who have looked ahead to the 2nd round.
Those teams:
1968 Boston Celtics - Russell Dynasty
1970 Los Angeles Lakers - West, Chamberlain, Baylor
1979 Washington Bullets - Good ol' Unseld, Hayes, and Co.
1981 Boston Celtics - Bird, McHale, Parrish
1995 Houston Rockets - Hakeem, Drexler
1997 Miami Heat- Hardaway, Mourning
2003 Detroit Pistons - Wallace, Hamilton, Billups
2006 Phoenix Suns - Nash, Stat
2014 Chicago Bulls - Noah, Gibson and......Augustine
If we lose this series, it would be bar none the worst series collapse in NBA history imo.
