Great post
I really despise this moron, however many of us have said things that we didn't mean , or regret saying, especially after a few drinks
When things that you say in private, can completely destroy you, BEFORE all of the facts are in, we are heading down a very slippery slope

But if this turns out to be true, advertisers, fans, players & coaches will bail on you & you will get your just rewards without the courts, NBA, NAACP etc getting involved

1st you can't condemn Sterling for being with a lady of a different race who is substantially younger than he is. Obvious financial transactions took place to keep her in a style she may or may not have been accustomed to. He could easily afford the $1.9 million or more to that transpired between them and the suit against her by his wife who is separated from him is no more than pure vindictiveness on her part especially using community property statues in California as a excuse. Obvious in a property settlement the 1.9 million could be deducted from his side of the settlement.

She took a action that she felt was appropriate that exposed Sterling's views on race and as a owner of a team in the NBA brought both him and the league in disrepute. So those who want to blame her she was protecting herself ( not condoning her lifestyle ) maybe the catalyst to this situation in retrospect is Sterling's wife.

Black people are just acting like a bunch of babies about the whole thing, especially Magic Johnson. Sterling is a crazy old man who lives in a different time still with the way he was raised accept it and move on stop crying about EVERYTHING like you're so hurt.

Wow. Let me first ask you this. When has a black person ever said that white people should never be seen in public with their girlfriends. When has a black person ever said that white people are worth 100% less than a black person? What sterling said is not some jokes about black people. It's not like if black person says white people can't dance and some people find it funny or ignorant. Sterling believes that black people are not worth as much as white people! And he has stated that multiple times not only through the voice on his tape but also through the housing discrimination he caused in the apartments he owned. You are trying to compare media reactions to situations that don't even exist because you seem to have some type of white persecution complex that the media is more severe to white people than to black people and other minorities. If the next time a black person who owns a sports team in a league with majority white players and says that those white players are not worth as much as the black players as people and he says comments that are akin to what a slave master would have said and the media quickly forgets about it then you may have a point. Until then seek help seriously.

yeah black people should totally get over the history of slavery, segregation, and their struggle to integrate into American society. lets get humorous

i hope you never reproduce children.

my point is that the players need to be more professional, and play for their team.. The old racist man will dealt with tomorrow.
I don't understand how it's shocking that a 80 year old white man growing up in new york is found to be racist ..that's just how it was back then. Force him out of his positions, whatever, then move along. Don't lose a game on purpose to make the story more than what it already is.

Be more professional for the unprofessional, racist, idiotic owner of their team? Yes because that's an issue people can just push off to the back of their mind and act like nothing happened. If people didn't make a stand against the bigots throughout modern history nothing would ever changed.

And the era which he grew up has nothing to do with this situation. Many old people grew up in a time when racism was more commonly accepted, but it doesn't mean that they get a pass to be racist now.

Remember when chris paul said he would only play for a black coach? This was before Clips hired Rivers.

Where was the media in that?

LOL there is a lot of dont come down hard on the bigot because im a bigot and if he is punished then that means Im a bad person, and I know im not a bad person.

Sorry to break it to you, but large parts of our society do view bigots as bad people. Learn to not care what those parts of society think about you and you are free to continue being a bigot. Though I would recommend not doing it publicly or you might find it tough getting a job.

From my personal experience as a white guy who has dated girls from several different cultures (including east Asian, south Asian, Latino and Black) I received the most hostility from black guys for being with "their" women.

This is why I find all the outcry over Sterling's comments to be very hypocritical.

I really wonder how Doc Rivers would feel if his daughter came home with a white guy - or an asian or middle eastern guy?

Actually I'm quite sure he isn't pleased with the black guy she came home with Paul George.

Right so these idiots you met should be the standard we hold society to?

By the way Doc Rivers could be a racist that doesn't make Sterling any less of one.

Hypocritical? everything you said is irrelevant and off topic so far so to connect your post to Sterling and call the people offended by his association with a League they support with their time and money to be somehow hypocritical based on some guys you met...

Why enter a conversation like you have something to contribute when you don't?

Oh plz. Just because you experienced prejudice doesn't make the outrage of what sterling said any less hypocritical. And it wasn't just what sterling said about bringing black people to his games. He said he did not value black people the same way he valued white people. Do you people who complain about the outcry actually read all of his comments and understand the implication of what he said, or are you just here to complain about white victimhood?

Attention other white people: if you think you can even experience racism, you are wrong. We can 'laugh it off' because we are the privileged people in power. Larry Johnson can call me a cracker or be mad that I am dating his sister, and I still won't go to jail for smoking pot, and I will still get interviewed for jobs based on my name sounding white. I can 'laugh it off' because it is meaningless. It does not affect me in anyway. The reverse is not true. Stop whining about a double standard. It is something that ignorant 20 year olds believe and it is as harmful as Donald Sterling's more overt racism.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

And then you laughed and refinanced another low interest mortgage on your house, caught a cab, and we're helped by the police.

That is very easy to say from a position of white male privilege, where inequality is seen as normal.

I know everyone wants him to sell the team. You have to look at it in terms of the law. Did he do anything illegal? No. So if the NBA is going to pressure Sterling to sell Sterling can command the biggest bang for his buck.

The team is still an asset and you can't simply strip a multimillion dollar asset from someone because you don't like them.

I am sure in the franchise agreement the league has the right to sell the franchise.
He will be fully compensated at the going rate and can see a large number of buyers lining up for the franchise either to keep it in LA or move it to Seattle. The Bucks sold for $500 million and the owner could have got considerable more but he want the franchise in Milwaukee and will use a portion of the proceeds to build a new arena.

Could see the Clippers going for a high as $700 million or more.
He can buy some more buildings to exploit people.

"I thought that there's got to be a way to disrupt him from owning the team," said Alexander, who after 20 years owning the Rockets is one of the longest tenured owners in the NBA. "I gave him the sword to deal with this. I said, 'Let the players become free agents.'"

Houston's owner trying to get Griffin out of this

Marc Jackson's telling fans to boycott game 5, but doesn't think the players should.

"They've got families and bills. This is their job. This is their livelihood. They dreamt their whole life for it.

Don't like this response. Start with a player boycott, then encourage the fans. 'Families and bills?'

If stupidity was money, some of you would have enough cash to buy the Clippers.
