Agreed. Regardless of their collapse they still have some legit talent while we have guys at the end of their careers or starting to fall off

I'd rather have money tied into Paul George than Deron Williams, who has let this franchise down time and time again

why did you mention the pelicans? Lol they got the next Tim Duncan through the draft. Pelicans need to get a big time free agent and develop AD and they're in it

Only brought up Pelicans because even though they hit on a potential league MVP player they still only won 34 games. You can say AD is still young but hes already putting up ridiculous numbers. Just an example of even if you get lucky with the number one overall pick and hit with it you still most likely wont be a championship team let alone a playoff team

Yeah but picks get you players in this league. Especially, when it comes to a big market team.

Our trade assets this summer will be

-Thornton's 8.6 million expiring
-Teague's 1.1 million rookie deal
-Blatche's 1.3 million player option
-KG's 12 million expiring
-Brook's 14 million/2 year deal

That's great for short term deals but you aren't going to long term better this team with these assets. We are basically banking on the 2015 free agent class or the 2016 free agent class if we don't get under the luxury tax and we don't have any picks this year. We lucked out on Plumlee who is a lotto pick in this draft in hindsight, we need more of that and will have to give up valuable pieces to get a decent 1st round pick for some youth and agnosticism....which we desperately need to fully utilize Kidd's spread system.

If that Wallace deal doesn't happen and King didn't make an irrational move, we could use that 6th pick to acquire Dwight Howard. If not, we could have had Harrison Barnes or Andre Drummond and then, flipped either one for James Harden.

So, picks can be overrated if you plan to bottom out and tank year after year but depending on your franchise situation, it's extremely valuable. We had a chance to build a long term championship contender like the Clippers or Rockets in a New York market and Billy King blew it. Now, we are basically trying to get better with short term deals that ultimately end up masking the root of the issue being the franchise player and the assets we gutted for him, to accommodate him.

The Wallace trade i agree was thr stupidest move King could make. Every time i look at Damian Lillard killing it Portland i cant believe they got him by trading expiring Gerald Wallace. I know we wouldnt have dratfed him but still terrible trade by King that set this franchise in wrong direction. Without any doubt he's been giving up way too many picks for players not worth it, basically 4 first round picks for kg who plays 20 minutes in the playoffs and a expiring paul pierce.

I disagree... id ruch rather be in out shoes then indiana.

They arent much better off cap wise, and are locked into max deals to paul and hibbert. hibbert has already become an awful deal and george while kind of worth it isnt a guy who can lead you to a title. they may also overpay stephenson

sucks being locked in to dwill, but at least we have big market appeal, and at least a punchers chance at guys like durant in free agency. no big free agent is ever going to sign with the pacers.

That quote by Pierce was from a week ago, after a Nets win in which Deron played very well. I believe after game 1. He wasn't taking shots at D-Will, he was praising him.

Not thrilled about even watching this game. Had to stay away from Net related stuff after last game.

We can still win this series. In fact, I still expect us to win. Every game has been close, so it's not like Toronto has a ton of momentum. Every game has been a toss up.

Tough to watch us play like that last game though. Toronto's playing well and I completely give them credit for their defense. Someone besides PP and Blatche needs to get to the rim. During the year, Plumlee and Deron could do it. Right now, Toronto is shutting us down at the rim and not letting us get good looks from 3. Which is unacceptable.

We're shooting 25% from 3 for the entire series. We're fouling way too much. Alan Anderson's played more minutes than KG. We scored 79 points at home.

Deron hasn't shot well for the last 20 games. We don't need him to be this ultra aggressive scorer but he does need to impact the game with his playmaking and penetration - he's not really doing that.

Blatche needs to permanently take Plumlee's spot. 4 games is enough to get the jitters out and he hasn't been able to do that. Plumlee can come in if bad Blatche comes out. Thornton needs to play. AK47 needs to take all of Anderson's minutes. Livingston or AK47 need to be on Derozan at all times.

For all the experience we have, the guys that aren't vets are being completely overwhelmed by the moment. Livingston, Thornton, Plumlee, Anderson have been beyond terrible.

Our bench has given us nothing.

We still have some hope, but it does not bode well for us. The team cannot shoot to save their lives, the bench has all but been non existent, and the team's chances ride on Deron taking charge.

Not good.

My 3 keys before this series were:

1) Too much reliance on jump shots, especially with KG on the floor

2) coaching, kidd is cant kill us

3) Dwill has to outplay lowry

we have had issues in all 3 of those. it doesnt bode well. Glad i have a basketball game tomorrow night, so i can just see the score once the games over and rewatching it if we win or just move on if its a loss. cant sit through another game this series

I will watch. I will root for these guys to pull this out and regain one chance to finish this in Game 6 but my confidence in this team is shot after that last game. Deron is a loser, flat out.

We gave Washington the 5th seed and now they are most likely making it to the ECF. Cray cray. I'll be watching and rooting this team but if dwill is a no show tomorrow he needs to be removed from this team quicker than David sterling from the nba

I think they will let Stephenson walk, he's a headcase and i think he's one of the reasons they have fallen off, that locker room must be hell.

You guys are talking as if you already lost.
As a raps fan, i fear your vets will step it up and take us out.
Its moments like these where Pierce and KG, and even JJ always step it up!
I got brooklyn winning this one.

It isn't about Super Joe, KG, or PP.

It is about DERON. When he shows up, we are elite. When he does not, we are not.

I have no faith in him. NONE.

I am scared to death of what will happen tonight.

This is why I balked at tanking for rest because you should always try to win out and finish on a high note.

The Wizards now may WALTZ to the conference finals, and here we are tied 2-2 with a very dangerous prospect of having to play TWO elimination games in a row.

I don't trust this roster in a situations like that.
