I voted Young jsut to be consistent, but in the end this will be a spot where someone makes a big jump from the combine and workouts. Call it the Mike Mamula pick.

What can he do that Jabari Parker can't do . Parker is way more athletic then we give him credit for . Longer arms as well. Saric is a true tweener.

How does that even relate? Parker is my number 3. There's a big disparity between 3 and 9. Not sure why you're comparing the two.

I originally voted for Stauskas at #9 but since he didn't make the cut I am voting for Saric.

James Young.
Young is a Shooting guard who has MORE length (longer wingspan) than the Power forward, Dario Saric. James Young is longer and younger than Garry Harris, and is just as good of a 3pt shooter right now. Young has more upside than Garry Harris. Saric will have a severe physical disadvantage to every other Powered Forward in the league.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

I feel like Gary Harris will be better early in their careers and a long time starter, but Young has significant upside. I just don't know enough about young to determine the likelihood of him becoming better than Harris. I don't have enough information to make a truly informed decision. Seems like he could flame out before ever putting it together, Rodney Carney type career.

Just not feeling Saric at all. He isn't a great prospect . He is a tweener. I would go James Young all the way elite length and massive upside at 2 guard.

I like Harris too.

Let me put it like this

If we drafted Parker with the top 5 . I would draft Harris . If we drafted Wiggins . I would draft James Young with the Pelicans pick.

Staukus reminds me of JJ Redick. I would pass on him in the lottery kinda like I would McDermott . I want big time upside players on a young rebuilding team . Not role playing 3pt shooters. I can acquire those via free agency when ready to contend.

To stay consistently inconsistent, I went with James Young.

It's really close between Hood/Stauskas/Young/Harris. If I'm Hinkie (I'm not saying I'm not him, but I'm not saying I am him either), I throw them into a workout & go from there.

But what do you even know about him? How is he not a great prospect? If your only argument of why he will bust is because he is a tweener and will get abused by stronger forwards isn't very convincing. I think there is plenty of legitimacy to his attention by professionals scouting the draft.

I have switched from Young and am now on board with Saric. Like the guy's potential. Ballhandling, rebounding, passing, scoring... everything you want from a 4 playing next to a defensive 5 like Noel will be. I'd also like to mention I doubt Hinkie would select Gary Harris at 10. Doesn't have enough upside or length. I know the exercise is who we like not what will the Sixers do, which again leads me back to why would we want a short 2 guard with limited athleticism and virtually no upside???

Wiggins will be a 2 in the NBA, so taking Young with Wiggins would be very repetitive.

I can see your point about Young and Wiggins being repetitive but those two guys can play together on offense and guard the SG and SF on the other team. The roster has lots of holes so if Young is bpa at #10, I think you take him over "fit."

Thankfully, Hinkie will have a lot more info than us when making decisions! There doesn't seem to be much consensus around this ninth pick. But, we are getting more SG votes than FWD votes.

I disagree I think Stauskas can be more than just a passable role player. His ability to help MCW with ball handling and more importantly to spread the floor for driving lanes for MCW and space for our top pick in this draft could be very valuable.

I believe it was mentioned before too how few above average to top notch 2 guards there even are in the league anymore.

He will be able to play the 2 or 3 and be able to guard 3 different positions.

Agreed about Hinkie having way more info than any of us will have. While BPA is great in theory I really think they need two starters out of this draft unless someone drops to where it's a no brainer.

Two starters would be sweet. I think many of us are thinking about the 9th pick in the context of, "We already have a forward or center from our own pick." But if we take Exum, this 9th pick probably wouldn't get as many SG votes.

One really disappointing thing about Parker, Wiggins, Randle, Vonleh, Gordon... none of them are facilitators. There aren't any "point fwds" unless you look at Anderson that way. There's Saric, I guess.

Does anyone think Parker can become a playmaker that gets 5 or 6 assists per game?
