You must have missed that play when Lowry snapped Deron's ankles in half.

Silver Lining...

The Nets are STILL in the playoffs - Raptors need 4 wins not just 3. And tonight revealed that even though they can totally dominate the Nets at times, they can be vulnerable to fourth quarter runs.

Jason Kidd actually played the hot team in the fourth quarter?! That's a major breakthrough for him as stubborn as he is about his infallible rotations. It was a MAJOR reason why the Nets were able to put the Raptors on their heels towards the end of the game. Will Kidd repeat that in an elimination game as well? Playing the hot hand or hot team?

MT3 finally was able to hit from behind the arc tonight. His production has been absent prior to this game - perhaps he's finally gotten over the playoff jitters and will return to regular season form...at least for game 6 at least.

And lastly, Joe Johnson had a spectacular heroic effort in a comeback attempt that was another rebound/possession away from being legendary. Unfortunately, they dug a hole that was just too deep to get out of.

Interestingly, in a game where the Nets were getting killed, Joe Johnson's plus/minus was an astronomical +22

This was the first time, this entire season including the playoffs, that the Brooklyn Nets had finished with an L when Joe Johnson had a plus/minus of 6 or more. [Regular season 29-0; Post Season 1-1]

I've resigned myself of this season earlier on when KG was limited to bench minutes in the regular season - so, I'm not as shocked as others here. But I figure these were some positives to hold on to as being hopeful for those that are looking for something in elimination game in Brooklyn.
Garnett’s shot...boosted him to 25,000 points in his NBA career. More than that, by reaching...25,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, 5,000 assists, 1,500 steals and 1,500 blocks — Garnett joined an elite class of … ONE. Just him. That’s it - Steve Aschburner

If we do win game 6, game 7 will be crazy. Raptors would be heavy favorites IMO, but I think we're still alive right now.

What has this team done all season long that screams of pride?

We came back tonight because one man on this team had pride.

That's not enough
Well, the two Celtics guys have a lot of pride. I think JJ showed something tonight. Perhaps a big plus is that the bench guys made meaningful contributions tonight and helped us make a comeback. Our bench has been very poor compared to Toronto this series, maybe they'll finally play well at the same time in game 6.

You guys are nuts this season is still isn't over. This was a bigger victory for us than for the raptors. It showed we can play against a huge crowd and stop worrying about sticking on the game-plan.

Kidd needs to make some big adjustments... If they aren't going to feed Plumlee on pick n rolls play Collins, SL has been the Reggie Evans of these series and at the same time he gets too handsy against Derozan, we gotta play AA. Give more minutes to KG and keep Blatche in the 3rd String and lastly give Mirza a bigger role other than shooting. When he is doing more he plays much better and actually hits his shots.

I just made mention of this. Toronto found what they were missing towards the end of Game 3. Agreed, there are no moral victories, but they now know what's going to work in order to beat Toronto and have quiet possibly made an adjustment. Kidd has to play Blatche more and Mirza.

Heads should roll after this debacle ends. I don't care if we don't have a draft pick next year

blow it UP.

ARe you effing kidding me!?!?!

The raptors ACTUALLY WIN THE GAME, and take a 3-2 series lead, but its a bigger "victory" for us because we shouwed we can play on the road?

GTFO what that nonsense!

what exactly did we show? that we can not show up to the biggest game of the year and step ina 26 point hole?

this team is trash and full of guys who dont show up or play hard. we are gonna lose by 20-40 points friday

Hard to say Pierce and Garnett have pride, when they were justifiably benched for playing like crap. Pierce with his lazy passing leading to 5 TOs, and KG just being totally ineffective in his 12 minutes. They HAD pride, when they played for the Celtics, but they've given up on this team imo...and I can't really blame them. Bet you they wished they got to play with Lowry instead of Deron this year, after watching that performance.

What a heartless sack of **** Deron is. Makes me so angry when I remember how much I used to defend him and how much excitement and hope I had when we first acquired him. He completely **** ed this team over.

Deron after Game 4: "I know I've got to be aggressive"

Tonight: 13 points, 9 assists on 4/8 FG. 0/1 3PT, 5/6 FTA.

Well.. I thought we were gonna loose this game coming in it. Raptors had too much momentum closing game 4. and Raps fans being fired up on the road win. The fact that we came close to win with a 24 point deficit is something to build on. This is what's good on having a veteran team they won't get phased but at the same time we now know we can fight back. This is a bigger victory for us than the raptors because the raps showed their Ace in the hole. This team can still play better than we did tonight. This game is still 50/50

not trying to be a dick... but that is seriously the dumbest thing i ever heard. a bigger victory for us when they WON THE GAME?!

they showed their ace in the hole... yea, that ace is they are a better team who plays harder. not sure how that helps us. veteran team? what good is it when the only experience our best player has is turtling when it counts most?
