I've seen a couple posts on the General Board about JV nearly goaltending/making a dumb play. It was backcourt violation, he can swat the ball if he wants to.

My word, Casey can do some good things in prep / defence.... but my word, he is a horrible, horrible game time coach. He is a championship assistant, he will never be anything more.

How can you hate on Casey for not playing JV... If wasn't for Casey recognizing JV poor defensive rotation game 4 do you think we would be up 3-2... Casey is great defensive coach, great motivator and overall the perfect coach for this young team.

Sure, who is to say we wouldn't have won that game easier?? He is our biggest mismatch advantage in the series, I think they should use it more.

They came back because we stopped playing hard. Our bench was lazy. Nothing else.

It would have been better for Brooklyn to get blown out. To spend so much energy physically and emotionally and still lose is tough. Pierce and Garnett looked tired after two days off. Friday is going to suck for them and especially for jj who played so hard. You can tell from dd and Lowry they took it as a loss. That just shows maturity and hopefully focus for the next game. If it was a blow out they may have been cocky. I see a win next game.

Way I see it is it was everyone's fault.

In terms of the players, this is what happens when you play 4 nail biter games and then blow a team out. Simply, you get cocky and relax. This is what the players did.

Casey also got cocky and relaxed. Played Hayes and salmons way too long. JV was dropping duncan-esque points in the paint and then sat WAY too long. He played 25 minutes. He's 21 years old for God's sake.

JJ abused salmons and what is Caseys adjustment? Not going to your bench and finding Fields who was your solution to JJ in game 2. It was to put DD on him who also got torched. Smh.

And that last inbounce pass? WTF was that. I'm gonna give casey the benefit of the doubt and pray to God he didn't actually draw that up.

All in all, no such thing as a ugly win. Lucky number is ONE.

I think Casey knows when to play JV and when not to play him, afterall if he never took JV out in game 4 we wouldn't be up 3-2 in this series... JV gives you some scoring, but he gives up more then he gives you at the defensive, because of his poor defensive rotation ... 40 year old KG scored like what 8 points in the 4th Q game 4 when JV was on him, because is just damn to slow to recover on the help D.

No GM would take Lowry or DD over Wall. I'm not sure they'd take them over Beal either.

However, I do think Lowry has more heart than all of them.

On the offensive end yes he is big mismatch, but the defensive end he is liability... because he is not mobile enough and is just too slow on rotation ... In the 4th Q unless Amir or 2Pat are sticking the court I like to see more of them and less of JV and Hayes..

We won game 4 because of Caseys defensive adjustment, Demar has been our best player for 3 of the five games so far, Salmon has done okey the limited minute he has defended JJ...

Please tell me how Casey is such a great coach? His mind boggling rotations and substitutions almost cost up another game. How the heck do you let JV to rest for that long during the 4th? How do you NOT put in Fields knowing full well Salmons nor DeMar can't guard Johnson? He's lauded as this defensive guru but the Nets shot 53% from the field tonight.

Without Lowry's clutch shots down the stretch, this game is a L. That's on Casey.

Good news we hung on and figured out a way to win. Hopefully we also leaned a valuable lesson about stomping on teams when they are down.

Bad news. Nets finally realized that kg and pierce aren't among their best 5 players.

If that's the line up they go with, they're screwed. No one to guard Lowry or DeRozan. They just had a ridiculous shooting quarter coupled with the Raps already making plans for the night out.

Anyone trying to say that was a dumb play by JV is **** stupid.

1. He clearly saw it was a back court violation as did pretty much everyone else
2. The refs blew the whistle as soon as Deron touched the ball. I'm pretty sure a whistle means the play is dead.
