I've done my best to read through a lot of this thread.. and there's one thing being overshadowed due to that 4th Q meltdown.

Lowry.

Lowry was the reason for our 26pt lead. Lowry was the reason for us holding a lead late. Lowry is the reason Deron's ankle is hurting this morning. How is this not THE play of the damn season? He crossed Deron Williams HARD and finished the play to pretty much seal the victory and I haven't seen enough praise of this one play in particular. This was his biggest basket of the game.

I don't want to overpay him but without him, we would be fishing right now.

I still feel physical stress from last night. My health can't take much more of this, we better close this out easily on Friday or I could have an actual heart attack

Thanks SHAW! Got home in time to see this, but the recording I had set on the DVR never took place, so I missed the best 24 minutes of the year. Time to switch providers.

BTW, how is this not a 4 point play?

The same people complaining that this wasn't a good win are the same people who say there's no such thing as a moral victory. If there are no moral victories, there are no moral losses either.

The 4th quarter was all kinds of stupid but a win is a win

06-08 teams would've lost that game.

what if the people who are saying it's a bad win are the same ones who believe in moral victories? If there are moral victories, then there are moral losses

but I agree, a win is a win..doesn't mean you ignore what happened, just need to take it as a learning experience which is what the Raps are gonna do

yup we got a big bailout package courtesy of Lowry last night, omg, the people at the bar where i was were all doing this :banghead: :nonono: after the game got tied.

IMHO, we got a lucky win last night, DW is just not the same and is severely under performing, we were fouling the jump shooters left right and center giving them several and 1s and 2 or 3 (4 point) plays? had any one of those critical 3s from vasques or lowry missed we might be staring down the other end of the 3-2 deficit. Man this team sure knows how to meltdown @ crucial moments. Game 4 (fall apart in 2nd and 3rd) we scrape through somehow, Game 5 (supposed 4th quarter team completely falls apart in the 4th)

I think Game 6 is up for grabs still and if the raptors meltdown again, Brooklyn is going to take it away from us. Brooklyn is gonna come out swinging cuz it is a must win for them, the raps cant have any lapses if they want to close it out in 6. Last night was an ugly win, but it is what it is, this team is still young and still has a lot to learn.

Miami is resting well on the other side...

I still can't wrap my head around Vasquez throwing the final inbounds pass towards our own basket, pretty much the riskiest pass you could possibly throw in that situation. Throw it to the other basket and it's basically physically impossible to get a shot off in the other direction in 1 second.

Thank goodness Lowry was in MVP mode tonight and props to DD for making his FT's down the stretch (even though his horrendous D on Johnson allowed them back in the game).

Such a wide range of emotions after this game

Rewatch the games then, because you have no clue what you're talking about. Fields was so good on Johnson, that Joe was never even thinking about shooting the ball. He couldn't do anything against Fields. Couldn't post him up, couldn't drive past him and couldn't get open to save his life. He was an absolute non factor with Fields on the court. Yeah, our offense might not be that good with Fields on the court, but what does Salmons provide offensively anyway? When was the last time he hit a shot? He's useless offensively and useless defensively.

I missed that game and downloaded it (I knew we won and that fields supposedly shut joe down)! When fields was on the floor, raps just started doubling him and he kept passing it out.
Johnson missed 1 or 2 shots at the end of the shot clock. Fields obv did a decent job of pushing him out but he's no "stopper".

You must not understand. When fields is on the court, they leave him open, no one pays him any attention. Even if salmons is 0-10, his man is still with him. I agree salmons sucks offensively right now but he's still better than fields

what are you talking about? salmons is left open to make 3s and he's bricking them all... salmons sucks no matter how to put it, salmons stinks... fields is a positive out there because he brings more than salmons does...

My take on it...Vasquez is the ultimate douchebag. He gave the Nets a glimmer of hope of winning the game, but knew it would always be out of reach when he saw Deron's fatass guarding Ross. He always knew Ross would manage to grab the ball no matter what in that situation and was sinisterly laughing to himself that entire possession, toying with their emotions.

That or he's a ****ing idiot.
