we used to do this at this mixmakers.net board that I was a part of (one of the greatest sports forums ever, unfortunately it's basically dead now). it definitely was fun. we had categories similar to the ones in sports (MVP, MIP, all-board teams) and made-up ones that cover the types of members themselves (debater of the year, mod of the year, flamer of the year, spammer of the year, etc.).

we tried to get something like this going a long time ago. i think it was walts idea. i am all for it if you guys are interested. hopefully nobody takes it too serious and gets their panties in a wad. just make sure you guys vote for me in the "king of ranking random crap" category. :D

Sounds like it could be pretty funny, count me in

Lol I could foresee certain posters getting pissed. Im all for it.

That's always been my concern. We want to encourage posters, not alienate them or drive them away.

i missed it. was watching walking dead. i'll DVR it this week for sure.

80s and early 90s college ball was the peak. of course i am biased since that was the era of college hoops i grew up watching as a kid. i remember my first memories of college basketball were the UNC vs indiana championship game in 1981 - when i was 8. for some reason, i thought al wood was amazing. it was all ACC and big east back then. ACC had UNC, duke, NC state and virginia who were usually great. big east had georgetown, st johns and then sometimes villanova, sometimes providence, sometimes syracuse.

think of all the great players that came out of the big east in the 80s - patrick ewing, chris mullen, mark jackson, reggie williams, sleepy floyd, ed pinkney, david wingate, bill wennington, walter berry (wikipedia if you arent familiar with his story), otis thorpe, cliff robinson, pearl washington, sherman douglas, rony seikaly (if you were a hornets fan, you hated him), danny schayes, michael adams, john bagley (you thought ray felton was fat?), charles smith, jerome lane (broke a few backboards).

I finally got around to watching the doc and I have to ask you Fats - do you have any idea why Pearl Washington never made it in the pros? I knew him as a blah NBA point guard instead of THE Pearl Washington of Syracuse before seeing the film.

or was he just another talented New York streetballer and you have to accept the fact that half of them don't become anything in the pro game?

It's hard for me to pick a favorite between Louie's Chewed Up, Hilarious and Shameless.

This thought just popped in my head. What would you guys think about the Bobcats handing out vuvuzelas for the first home game as the Hornets next year?
