Fields wasn't injured and he had ross/derozan/patterson guarding him. And he just got out coached by a player. Simply clueless.

This thread and people that call for Casey to be fired here are the reason the negativity makes this place a joke sometimes.

Clearly the players have to take some blame here I.e. DD. But j friggen kidd out coached Casey tonight. Fields proved he can handle JJ by himself. Yet you continue to double giving up wide open 3's which busted the game open

I actually think DC improved over the year, but he's really not THE guy, you need someone who's brilliant and DC is shiny at best.

Casey was the only reason we even had a shot in Game 7. Outstanding coaching in the final 2 minutes, and for the entire season. He had an average team at best significantly over achieve.

I voted yes. The man has absolutely no feel for the offensive side of things. We need a young college ball coach.

How about Kevin Ollie?

Casey was the reason why this went to game 7. :banghead:

Out coached by a rookie head coach. made JJ look like a prime MJ. Good Riddance Casey.
why was hakeem called "the dream"??"

Because it rhymes with 'Olajuwon'.

When our SF is outweighed by 40 pounds and we don't have a true SF, its kinda difficult to stop a scorer like Johnson

Casey did not even try to make adjustments on him for the majority of the series. Vasquez worked today and Fields worked, why didn't he experiment in the early games, when JJ was CLEARLY unstoppable? How stupid does an individual have to be? This series loss in all on Casey.

For everyone wondering why Fields did not play is because he still has back issues. His back was swollen on Fridays game and had limited movement. As someone who has had back problems it takes a while for it to heal. JJ would have killed him regardless. He would have been a liability on the floor.

I'm of the opinion that Masai should've canned Casey last summer.

It would've been the best time as the new GM to say that he wanted his own coach to lead his team. But instead, he kept BC's coach and BC's core and now that they've exceeded expectations, it's going to be harder justify to fire Casey.

Casey is not a good gametime coach but he's improving and you have to give him credit for how the team has developed under his tutelage. This team is still evolving and they deserve at least 1 more year together.

To me, win or loss, this series should have not been the deciding factor for Casey's dismissal.

The fact of the matter is, that throughout his three year tenure, Casey has not been able to do what a head coach should be doing. He cannot manage a half-decent rotations, he cannot make in-game adjustments in a timely fashion, and he cannot rein in his star players. These factors should be more than enough to make it obvious that Casey must go.

Worst of all, Casey is desperately looking to make a mark as a head coach, he consistently chose to chase a few meaningless wins over developing this team's young players. This team has paid dearly by wasting three rebuilding seasons, it can ill afford to waste yet another season, which will happen if Casey stays.
Where ignorance is bliss, 'tis folly to be wise.

For the people that want to keep Casey what exactly does Casey bring?
Offense Acumen - No
Playmaking out of timeouts - No
Defensive Acumen - No (Maybe at the beginning of the year but it entirely deteriorated by the playoffs)
Player Respect - Yes
Ability to Adapt Rotations - No
Ability to exploit mismatches - No
Player development - Maybe (Val improved) Ross not to much. Both players MP hindered development IMO because of his tendancy to play veterans.

Raptors have been winning all year DESPITE Casey. They improved because Gay left opening up possessions for Demar/Lowry and the bench was bolstered by patpat & vasquez. People confuse the issue because they THINK Casey is partially responsible for the Raptors regular season success but he's just not. Please bring in an analytic coach that can draw up plays, increase ball movement and adapt rotations based on MATCHUPS! No former players!

With the number of times he's said "experience" and "veterans" this series, you'd think he wished he was coaching the Nets instead. You can only play that card so many times to fire up your team before it starts to look like you'd rather be coaching the opponent's team.
