Re: NBA Games Discussion Thread - Part 2
Raptors fans talked so much crap about the Wiz all season.. ironic that their team will now be sitting at home watching us play in the second round

Crazy ending to that game. Lowry should have swung that ball instead of forcing it.
Now the Nets go to Miami... a series a lot of people want to see but the Heat will in 5.

Raptors are a good team, their fans suck balls though. They deserve this

I love that Raps team and Vasquez is my favorite non wizard in the league but I'm glad they're gone. That team is full of Wizard killers, and I think they would beat the Wiz easily in a 7 game series. The Heat, Brooklyn, and pacers are all better match ups IMO.

Damn. I should never have doubted the Spurs. They are just killing the Mavs. Makes you wonder where this was at earlier in the series if they could just exploit the lack of paint defense by DAL.

Yeah, I initially wanted BKN to advance to play Miami and soften them up. But I don't know how much they'll have left in the tank to play a rested Heat team on the road. They barely hung on to win today. Valiant effort by Paul Pierce, but they're done.

Luckily the only 2 guys who played more than 30 mpg were Deron and Joe Johnson.

They are going to give Miami fits.
Johnson and Pierce each pose some psychological edge against Lebron. He has to defend them and they're going to bring physical play at both ends.
Garnett will slow Bosh.
Williams and Livingston won't have a buzz saw PG to defend.
Blatche and Plumlee will have a far less physical C in their way.
The Nets are going to win at least a couple.

That's ok. Its good enough that you did it. Appreciate the props.
So now onto the big battle
BRK vs MIA
I know MIA is rested so they clearly come out and win game one.
But BRK was built to play them. They have to be looking forward to this and getting pumped up for this.
But we have to see what happens with PP. He got his knee banged and it wasn't just contact. It link of looked like what happen to Nene. I wonder how he feels tomorrow.
MIA is clearly the favorites. But I want to see BRK make a series of this and take it to 7
So what do you think is going to happen ?

Some are real cool. They are even showing up to wish the Wizards luck against IND and will be cheering for them.

Re: NBA Games Discussion Thread - Part 2
I almost called it last night halfway through the 2nd of the 5 gm 7s.
Home team wins every one to get back to serious predictability
after a chaotic first round. BRK spoiled, by one possession, what
would have been a decent prediction. In hindsight, saying 4/5 home
teams win would have been closer to historical averages and an even
better prediction.

Just took Pop a while to figure out the Mavs...

Patrick Patterson's shot 5 for 5 from the field and 6 for 6 from the line - getting major playing time as Amir Johnson couldn't stay out of foul trouble - in the biggest game of his NBA career.

Dallas really needs to get another defender in the middle, a la Chandler when they won the title. They've got a complete sieve of a backcourt with Calderon/Ellis, plus an aging Dirk who was never a great defender to begin with. Wright is solid as a backup, but Dalembert isn't the answer.
If Houston ends up being willing to trade Asik in-conference, I think they have to make a hard push for him. Maybe even do some BOYD deals with their cap space to get picks to offer.

Yep, some have thought that they would go after Gortat, but he wouldn't be that helpful. Worry they will go after Ariza. But yes, Asik would be a good addition.

Re: NBA Games Discussion Thread - Part 2
Asik turned out to be exactly right when he said he can't fit with Howard. He looked awfully slow out there, and he's nowhere near the shot-blocker he used to be. Unless he loses some weight, I'm not sure he fits going forward in today's NBA. Same with Bogut with GS.

Heat have such an easy road to the Finals.
Sweep or 4-1 series wins next two rounds.
Then play a tired West team

Re: NBA Games Discussion Thread - Part 2
Heat are kicking Brooklyn's arse. I'd be surprised if any of the games in this series end up close. Brooklyn is so unathletic - even without Brook Lopez. Even old guys Ray Allen and Shane Battier look like spry young kids against Brooklyn. But I wouldn't put it past the Nets to try playing with a bit extra physicality - and see how that works. At least if might help the Wiz - playing a bruised Miami team. But I'm jumping too far ahead.
