Trevor Ariza Open To Re-Signing With Wizards

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon May 5, 2014 3:03 am

Trevor Ariza was asked whether he wanted to return to the Washington Wizards as a free agent in the offseason.

“I don’t know. It would be nice to come back here, but again, who knows what’s going to happen,” said Ariza, denying a rumor that he desires a return to the Western Conference to be closer to family. “That’s not . . . I don’t have to. Wherever I’m wanted. Whoever wants me on their team, I guess.”

Ariza was nearly dealt to the Los Angeles Clippers for Caron Butler in 2013, but Donald Sterling nixed the deal because he did not want to disrupt chemistry.

Wizards will give him the contract and then he'll regress like he always does after a contract year.

That and I think he wants regular playing time as well. He is a great role player - if he could replace Sefolosha on OKC it would be an immediate upgrade.

Ariza is a great role player when he's fully engaged, but can you trust him to maintain such a level?

He's an X factor in these playoffs.

Wizards would just need to sign Sefolosha then - a more consistent player?

What's funny is that I had lunch with Terrence Ross' agent yesterday. We talked about every possible scenario. Toronto never came up.

Ariza or Gotart? Both will expire this season. Imo, if it comes down to one or another, Gotart is more important....they already have Webster and Porter.
