The same way Indiana challenged them. Dominating the glass and forcing Miami to play big. But make no mistake, this series isn't over yet.

Miami has actually been really strong this year when Bosh has played the 4 next to Bird or Oden. Those big matchups are not nearly as much of a concern now as they were last year.

Such a lopsided conference the East is. Miami will make short work of Brooklyn and then proceed to annihilate either the dysfunctional Pacers or weaksauce 44-win Wizards. LeBron and co. can snooze until the Finals start.

dumb bench rotation? we had Livingston, johnson, Anderson, Mirza, and Plumlee. thats 2 starters on the floor.

JJ played 21 minutes, dwill 18 pierce 18. they arent goign to see much more then that, nor should they. mayeb dwill can play 40 minutes, but pierce at 36-38 is where he needs to be at

It's not just about minutes...it's about when you play whom. Having a lineup of Livingston, Plumlee, Blatche, Anderson/Kirlelinko, Thornton is a recipe for disaster...there's a reason the Heat try to keep one of Wade, Lebron, Bosh on the floor.

Not to mention Kidd's decision to do the same when they were down 13 in the 4th...maybe reasonable if rest is more important, still odd to give up as early as he did though.

This can still be a series, the Nets just need to put two halves together like the first one. Miami's role players had a really good night but they've struggled a bit this season. I don't think Ray Allen will have another game like that this post season. Kidd also needs to manage the starters minutes a bit better, his rotations are so weird.

Put two halves together like that so they only lose by 6 instead of double digits? But in all seriousness, the Nets really didn't play that poorly, nor did the Heat play their best, so I think the Nets are going to have a really tough time making this a series. Ray Allen is capable of having these games here and there, and while he may not put up 19 points the rest of the series he is more than capable of scoring in the teens more than once, which isn't a huge difference.

Plus, you could say that Wade will definitely put up bigger numbers throughout most of the series so I don't know that Ray Allen scoring 19 was the difference. What's scary for the Nets is they shot 42% from 3 and if they struggle like they did against the Raptors from 3 they're gonna have a bad time.

I expect a much closer game in game 2.

D-Will has to show up with a good game and the Nets need to win the rebound battle. If these two things happen they have a chance of taking it 1-1 back to Brooklyn.

Still hoping LeBron and the Heat get the next game!

I thought Williams and Johnson played well. No reason for Kidd to not run them out down 13 with 8 minutes left. Get a couple of stops, hit a couple of 3's, which Joe did all night, and your right back in it. Also, when the game is getting out of control get KG back in there.

I agree with you and I wasn't saying Williams played bad. I just thought Brooklyn looked tired. They had a good 1st half but got ou of gas in the 3rd. In the 4th Kidd gave up. Maybe he thought the team was too tired and did want to rest them a bit for game 2. If that's the right option I don't know, only time will tell (at game 2).

The issue was the Miami defense, which is quite sustainable. Brooklyn made tough shots in the first half. The second half was just a function of that kind of offense being unsustainable. On top of that, Brooklyn couldn't stop Miami in the halfcourt. Miami blew them out without the fast break. Miami was eating in the paint all night. There's a lot more that needs to happen for them to take a game.

the heat are the better team.... they won because they are the better team playing at home.

The heat outplayed us, outworked us, and outcoached us.

Sure our role guys struggled, and kidd coaching was really poor. but we lost because we got outplayed by a more talented team. plain and simple. maybe it isnt a 20 point blowout if kidd coaches better, but we still lose

This whole "reputation" based refereeing system is hurting the league more than it is helping.

The refs in the NBA are the worst thing it has going for it and it seems to be doing nothing to fix it.

The Raptors were the better team how? By dropping Game 7 at home?

What "reputation" based reffing? You mean people claiming D-Will should have fouled out on a flop and the foul was on KG instead? :I can't believe the Raptors got that call.

Please. BOTH teams played seven games while the Heat sat around for a week and a half developing new plays. People say it's the Heat and the rest of the league; you can't go back and spin that to fit your beef with the refs. The Raptors would have put up a better fight but can't beat an "old" team in Game 7 at home? And you blame the refs?

My two major thoughts on this game are,
1. How good Chris Bosh was, especially in the third quarter. He had 15pts 11 Rebs 3 assists, and no turnovers.

2. The Heat bigs completely outclassed them, I think even if Birdman is out, the Heat bigs (UD) can still outplay the Nets bigs. KG has to play a lot better for Brooklyn to have a shot.

The Nets are really vulnerable when they're small, because you can take their only big out to a high PnR or off-ball screen and that opens up huge lanes...Miami was feasting on that with their cutting, and that's likely going to be there for them as the series goes on

I'm not blaming the loss squarely on the refs, but the Raptors are more talented. I don't care much about the refs obvious pandering to Deron Williams so he wouldn't foul out, it's more the 3 invisible fouls on Amir Johnson that rubbed me the wrong way.

Still boggles my mind that they decided not to go for the 4th seed knowing that the Heat were set in on the 2nd.

We'll see who the joke is next season when half the Nets roster heads to a retirement home and they're left to rebuild with no cap space and draft picks for the next 5 years.

BKN WINS SERIES 4-3

Will that register? Nothing is even guaranteed for next season.

Nets are about to feel the playoff Heat, Miami in 5.
Bucks tricked me into being a diehard in 2001, LeBron is the 2nd best player ever, and pizza is awesome.
