JRo, revisiting this thread it reminds me that players are people with feelings. So are owners, GMs, and coaches. I have criticized the heck out of Flip, Ernie, Ted, and John Wall over the years.

What Juan Dixon did is what I hope everyone criticized does. He upped his performance to prove people wrong. Either that, or I hope the same thing Falk did when he laid into John Wall. Ignore haters if they've got nothing useful to say of if the criticisms detract from one's well-being.

What Amazingly Sucky can do is tell a person strong enough to take it what other's perceive to be the person's shortcomings, weaknesses, and failures. Right or wrong, perception is reality. Folks like Lebron have learned to manage their image. He also has been very proactive on adapting his game. I think Randy Wittman adapts his coaching. That is all I could ask of a coach. I am thoroughly impressed with him. I know some folks (hands) keep track of his failings, and they probably are on point.

( Highlighted original remarks made February 2013 on May 5, 2014. I still feel the same way about Wittman. )

The one area of persistent frustration with the Wizards is Ernie Grunfeld's view of how to manage assets when it comes to making trades and/or valuing draft picks. I wish like heck Ted Leonsis had someone reading this board. If Ernie did he would have drafted a lot better. Many people on this sight for years have suggested players who turned out to be really good. As tough as this draft is to figure out, the consensus by draft night will probably once again come through.

That's enough of a rant, other than to say if 2005 was 8 years ago! Wow, how time flies.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

There's still never been anyone funnier at playing a drunk than Foster Brooks.

It wasn't born with that, but certainly cemented its legend. An old poster, diderotn I believe, someone who didn't speak English as first language, coined the phrase. I believe Jared Jeffries had the honor of having the first thread dubbed with the title....

I miss diderotn.

I will #neverforget how amazingly sucky Juan Dixon was. (Sorry Juan, if you're reading this right now. You did, after all, troll this thread before. Love you man.)

For what it's worth, aside from this year's thrilling Wizards playoff run, the only time I've ever enjoyed such high quality basketball was watching Juan grow from a skinny freshman into a the ACC player of the year in his senior campaign, culminating in the Terps' national chamionship. Been telling my wife about ol' Juan the past few games. Always has been and always will be my favorite basketball player. Grittiness and a sweet, sweet jumpshot. I guess it's no surprise that my favorite active player is also #3, BB.
