Sixers fans big board: Pick #13 (POLL)

Post#1 » by HartfordWhalers » Thu May 8, 2014 10:26 am

#1 was Wiggins
#2 was Embiid
#3 was Parker.
#4 was Exum
#5 was Randle
#6 was Vonleh
#7 was Smart
#8 was Gordon
#9/#10/#11 was Young/Harris/Saric threeway tie :o
#12 was Stauskas

On to #13

Again, this is the player you most wish the Sixers would pick of the remaining players, not who you think will go 13th in some mock draft.

Poll choices being filled out by Dx mock draft, but if you want another choice upcoming just make some noise about it (Zach Lavie added for this reason).

Nurkic... If we didn't get embiid or Vonleh yet, I'd take the old fashion center.
“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

Getting pretty close to the point where you have to take Ennis despite the position log jam. Not yet though.

McDermott.

I had been really high on Anderson thinking he was going to be a mismatch on offense as a stretch, point 4 position in a small ball line up but I'm changing my mind and remembering the quote about statisticians, "There's a liar, a damn liar and there's a statistician." Despite Anderson's excellent efficiency on offense, I can't imagine how he can guard anyone, anywhere on the court.

What clinched it for me was comparing Anderson to Saric who is also a play making, stretch type 4. I am sure Saric would eat Anderson's lunch in all phases of the game.

I'm pushing Anderson down to early 20s.

Give me the big man in Nurkic. Even if he doesn't fit with Noel, he'll have good trade value if he can play at all because bigs are scarce.

Nurkic. Adding a back to the basket 5 to the roster is never a bad thing.

Considering what we did with Henry Sims....would love too see what we can do with a talented young big.

I'm still the lone vote for Clint Cappela.

I voted McDermott because we are now getting into role player territory which is where I think he belongs. Hairston might have intrigued me at this point as well if he were there. There are more guys I could talk myself out of than into. A little lower down Payne becomes more interesting, as does McDaniels, but for now I will go with a guy who at least has a definable NBA skill in his shooting, though I think he is harder to hide on D than some (credit to McDermott though, he does try to play D which is more than can be said of some others on this list).

Really wish Harrell had decared to give us a big man to pick in this part of the draft that I actually trust.

Went Lavine here as I did last time. There's still players with more potential at this spot than a role player like Doug
