I'm hoping for a trade down with someone looking to nab a QB that falls. Makes for an unexciting night.

Hoping one of the safeties falls and we pick him.

I'm fine with trading down.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Despite all the nonsense, I'm still excited for tonight and I'll still be watching. Very interested to see what the rest of our divisional opponents will do as well.
I guess the NFL wins after all.

Re: 2014 NFL Draft - Round One
I'm cool with a trade down to pick up some extra picks this year and next.
In my final mock I have us getting Shazier.
EDIT: I say final mock as if I do multiple, I do one mock of the first round every year for our draft party. Time for a three-peat tonight as I am the current reigning back to back champion.

I think I am going to go with wanting Ebron, Donald or trading down to target Shazier, Ward, Nix, Hageman or one of the WRs that ends up falling a bit. I am also a HUGE Troy Niklas fan. I wouldn't take him in the first, but if we trade back to the early-mid 2nd I would gladly take him.

I'm cool with trading down too. Though, we won't be trading for future picks. That is one of TT's rules, too much uncertainty regarding the value of what you are trading for.

Mayock's mock has Anthony Barr going 20th. Would like to move up to take him if something like that happens. If the Jets want a WR, they might be a good target at 18.

Re: 2014 NFL Draft - Round One
Me after Calvin Pryor gets drafted just before Green Bay picks..

I have a feeling it'll be similar to last year for me with the Datone Jones pick. Not upset but not excited either. Mosley or Shazier would fit the bill here.

Just saw the wiretap that ESPN and NFL Network have agreed not to tip the picks ahead of time. I'm a fan of that move.

Shazier is probably my top guy atm, followed by one of the two main safeties and Mosley.

For the guys who like Shazier...
How do you think he compares to Alec Ogletree from last year? I was big on Ogletree, he was one of the guys I really wanted to fall to GB.

There is still twitter, so I'd suggest we come up with a board policy for the picks. I'm guessing we can just use the spoiler button if you are discussing a pick that hasn't been announced yet.

If we took Shazier, what would you guys do with Perry and Neal? Just have them as back ups for when Clay pulls a hammy? Consider moving Neal again?

Walk away with any of them tonight, and I am not upset.

Re: 2014 NFL Draft - Round One
Give me Mosley and I'm happy. I just have a feeling it will be picked over by the time we get to draft and we should draft down, but it takes two to tango.
Would love us to draft back into the 2nd and pick up Ward.

I think that's a great comparison. Both are super athletic and versatile. Shazier probably has an edge in speed but Ogletree is a tad bigger. Both are playmakers though at the lb position< something we desperately need

Re: 2014 NFL Draft - Round One
Been re-watching Mosley and Shazier stuff for about 20-30 minutes now. Re-read a lot of scouting reports on them and stuff.
Mosley looks like the real deal. He's always around the ball, he's always taking good angles and he rarely seems like he's out of position. He's also a very good athlete and he is the type of player where he looks 'smooth' when he plays as opposed to fast... as if getting to where he wants to be comes natural.
Shazier is certainly a freak when it comes to his speed. I think that the way it works out is that Shazier will make more 'splash' plays than Mosley, but I highly doubt he is nearly as consistent. I bet that while Shazier makes more eye popping plays, he's also going to be the type that is more responsible for a few more big plays by the offense too.
So I think I'd go with Mosley over Shazier.

Re: 2014 NFL Draft - Round One
Call me crazy but my biggest fear tonight is if aaron donald somehow slips to the bears. Im more worried about that than anything to do with us. As far as we go a shazy or mosely would obv be great to throw in the middle. Prior or ha ha could really fill an need however the hyde factor may nullify this.
The big questions are do we take a CB, a good one will surely be there and hyde moving makes it logical. Do you take a top WR like cooks or lee, its a bit of a need and gives us options next year. Finally how about DL, would a timmy jerigan of lou nix entice especially if this is a one and done with raja.?
