Those scrubs know their role. It's easy not to miss when you have a limited and concentrated role of just spot shooting to focus on when the ball is swung to you wide open or in Birdman's case finish in the lane.
It bothers me - a testament to how sucky defense is in the NBA these days and how the refs prop up these cream puffs like Lebron.
Not to be a troll or anything (shout out to Fat

) but most of these teams suck when it comes to x's and o's. Most of the teams so called defensive philosophy is to pack the paint and let players shoot wide open jump shots. Coaches get praised for that like it's some type of brilliant strategy. I was always taught to play tough man defense and to contest every jumper, it' just stupid to me how players get left wide open. This guys might as well just play zone.
On offense most teams just use a pick and let the PG freestyle some type of play which usually resorts to one pass and a shot. San Antonio is not following suit. They still use two big men (although they will occasionally use the highly coveted stretch 4 which every team damn near requires now), they still use real plays, they still play real defense. The quality of basketball isn't the same, the superstars aren't the same, the overall play is just deteriorating. PG's are mostly SG's now and they have little playmaking ability, little true ball handle skills, and floor generalship. Centers are a dying breed. Big men are taught to play like SF's, and SFs are used as big men, its just weird.
And I agree with Lamarmatic, these young players aren't properly taught the game in high school or college, they get drafted as projects and then teams don't even have the ability to properly groom them. Or when the players start to reach their potential, they rarely stay with the team that picks them, they take their talents to bigger market teams.
