I feel like Brooklyn would be the one team that may consider. Jennings replacing Williams would suck but they need a little bit of youth and Smiths athleticism. Theyre payroll is so high that they have no choice but to try and contend. I did say Smith is someone that nobody would want which contradicted myself. But they have no frontcourt and owner who cares nothing about his payroll.
They aren't trading Williams and downgrade in overall talent for youth without incentive, and it be hard to argue Smith as incentive after the stance you've taken. If this trade went down, i wouldn't be angry, but again it would depend on what else we looked at in terms of trades
Williams value is dropping rapidly. The guy is still getting injections in his ankles to stay on the floor. He's going to be done before the end of his contract, so it may do them well to get out from under it. Could the answer be Jennings? Well that depends on the size of their ego. Does the franchise believe JKidd can coach Jennings up to the elite status? I wouldn't be surprised to see them take the bait.
Taking the cheaper pg would allow them flexibility to rebuild, because they aren't winning anything with their big ticket geriatric squad.
OK!? then why would we do it?
