Is this what the Heat/Nets threads will be infested with all series? Raptors still complaining about the refs? Your team might lose in dignity, but how does continuously blaming the refs demonstrate the fans having dignity? Playing the victim is so dignified?
Never knew stating the truth is bad. here's another truth that is relevant to the Heat/net series : Lebron & co will stream-roll the Brooklyn celtics
So anyone can whine about the refs and have it be taken as "truth"? The further thing that annoys me is that when Stephen A said people would rather want to watch the Nets than the Raptors, this whole board freaking flipped. So why is everyone saying now that the refs helped the Nets? Surely you can't think it was cause the league wanted the Nets to advance. Or are you really saying you only wanna hear it out of YOUR mouths?

Only 1 team thus far has matched up to Miami's level and it was SA in last year's finals. Brooklyn is getting really complacent and it didn't even look like they cared towards the end of the game when the Heat grabbed three consecutive offensive rebounds.

Yea, I truly believe the league wanted the nets to advance. That is all in the past so just enjoy the remainder of this series.

Where are the people that said that we needed to respect the Nets and that nothing is guaranteed? It's the politically correct thing to do, never go under 6 games so all fanbases respect your opinion

Nah. Again, Heat in 5, if that much

Indy gave Miami a battle the past 2 years and Boston took them 7 games in 2012. In fact if Pierce shows up to game 6 in 2012 they lose that series.
Brooklyn's biggest problem is their guys can't play big minutes. The dagger in tonight's game was the possession where Miami got 4 offensive boards and held the ball for 1:40. KG was sitting on the bench because he had played 21 minutes. If Brooklyn has any chance KG needs to give them 25-30 minutes.

Very few are still salty about the officiating. We're having some fun with a vulnerable Net fan base. Take it for what it is. It's just a bit of playful joking around.
I guess...I mean, it almost sounds like you''re salty the Nets won instead. A vulnerable Net fanbase? Maybe not as big as the Raptors, but interesting you put it like that.
Well whatever, like I said, the Nets are giving the Heat a MUCH better series than the Blazers are the Raptors, I can see the Nets still making this a worthwhile series. If they do, I'm interested on which fanbase will truly be more vulnerable once the Nets fans are talking again.
It won't be ours. What is there that could make us Torontonians vulnerable about our ball team? They've been eliminated. Things are moving forward. They'll be back better next year.
And yes, right now the nets and their fans are in a position of vulnerablity. They're vulnerable given the fact that their team is down 2-0. The games haven't even been as close as the final scores would indicate. I think most would agree on this.
And why wouldn't I be salty that the Nets won? Of course I'm salty. I'm a born and raised Toronto guy. I would have killed to see the Raptors in the second round.
Either way this series is providing us all some entertainment, just for different reasons.

Celtics, 2012 - 9
Bucks, 2013 - 17.5
Bobcats, 2014 - 7.5
Nets, 2014 - 16.5
Knicks in 2012 lost by 33 points in game 1, and then by 10 in game 2, so that's why their margin is so high. They're definitely not the worst team on this list. First 2 games haven't even been close. Nets have been as competitive as a typical first round Heat opponent. It's unfortunate they're in the second round, but what can you do.
Did Miami also get points for Amare punching the fire extinguisher?

Re: 2014 NBA Playoffs Semi-Finals: MIA (2) vs BKN (6)
Anyone who thought that things would play out differently just because of the Nets' record against the Heat during the regular season was kidding themselves. The playoffs are a different animal. The Heat got to rest while the older Nets came off a full seven game series. Unless Indiana can somehow turn back the clock and play like it was four months ago, the Heat basically have an easy path to the finals.

Yeah, what is up with the Raptors even being mentioned in this thread? Who cares about them? They are irrelevant and got bounced in the first round. They no longer have any meaning. Bad calls, worse team - doesn't matter. They'd have gotten pummeled by Miami anyway, so it's not like it matters.

Well not everybody. In fact 55% of the poll had the Nets winning in 6 while 37% had the Nets in 7. Too many people fell in love with the 4-0 regular season sweep. Like I said regular season means absolutely nothing. Especially when Wade missed two of those meetings & 3 of those meetings came off back-2-back games & Nets only won by a point...If the Nets would've blowed them out in those meetings then you could make a case

Your still joking lol
No lol, I think Brooklyn takes one game where Miami just coasts too much (game 3 in Brooklyn) and one game where JJ + role players gets hot (game 5 in Miami).
I could be totally wrong though and the Nets get blown out the next two games for a clean sweep.
You know Spo and Lebron will be all over them about not coasting in game 3. However, game 4 after spending friday night at 1OAK. different story.

There were so many factors that favoured the Nets during the regular season. It's strange that seemingly no one took any of that into account when looking at this series.

It's getting a little annoying that the thread is less about Heats vs. Nets and more about Raps, Nets, Knicks, and Bulls fans going at each other.

SAS said it when the series between the raps & nets was ongoing and he was deservedly ripped for it. None of the raps fan on the GB are saying 'no one cares about the nets" instead we are commenting on this series and giving our opinion. However, our opinion leaves an undesirable impression with you for some reason. Does it irk you that majority of the sentiment here is that heat will destroy your Paul Pierce's nets?

I was thinking this as well.
It's just that I genuinely want to see the Heat win. Anytime I post a celebratory remark or opinion, I get blasted by a poster or two.
But I'll be the bigger fan and stop playing into it.
My apologies for hijacking the thread with the petty beefs.

I don't think what you are doing is wrong. If you want to support the Heat because the Raps lost to them that's fine and nobody's business. Fans do that all the time when their team loses a heavily contested series. I did find it funny during game 1 when Nets/Celtics fans were getting upset at others rooting for the Heat
However, the constant bickering from other people about the Heat and Raps vs Nets and Celtics and Bulls and whatever takes away from the game thread. But maybe people enjoy that more than the game? What do I know? I just wanna talk some hoops.
