That missed chippie by Garnett would have made it a 3 point game, instead he misses and Ray hits a 3 and it's 8 points. That and the lucky 2 minute offensive rebounding possession were the difference. This game was way closer than some of these comments suggest.

I'm more inclined to say I'm surprised you're convinced about the performance by the Nets. If Mirza Teletovic didn't come off the bench and drop 20 then this is another 20+ point blowout by Miami. If anything, his scoring fury was "luck" unlike Miami battling for 4 straight offensive rebounds on one possession. On the other hand Deron Williams went scoreless but I can't even say that was "luck" on the Heat's side because they made him extremely uncomfortable defensively, which is what they hang their hat on.

Bad calls, worse team - doesn't matter. They'd have gotten pummeled by Miami anyway, so it's not like it matters.

It's getting a little annoying that the thread is less about Heats vs. Nets and more about Raps, Nets, Knicks, and Bulls fans going at each other.

It would be great if the Nets showed up and gave us something else to discuss. Miami has clearly looked like the superior team this series (as anyone with a brain would have guessed). What else can we say about that?

Also let me paint another picture. If the Heat & Lebron weren't burned out because of the winning streak and, Wade & Bosh were healthy for all playoffs, no series would've gone more than 6. See how that works? Funny how people can point out the other stuff always and forget about where the Heat were unfortunate.. I mean.. Parker's bull crap shot in game 1 when he sucked all series. That scrub Danny Green going ham.. Talk about a narrative.

Celtics took the Heat to 7 in 2012 and the streak was in the 2013 regular season.

But still yes people always like to point out when the Heat were lucky and forget the rest.

No one could stop LeBron at game 6, that was the best performance of LeBron's career (and he has a ton of great games on his resumé).

Celtics took them to seven because Bosh and Wade were injured. I already pointed that out. Anyway.. Was just ranting man.. I'm tired of some of the bull narratives.

The celtics were very very injured too. Pierce had a sprained MCL and Ray had bone spurs. I mean anytime you have Ryan Hollins playing in critical minutes in a game 7 you have big time problems. Yeah definitely right about that game 6....that was the most dominating performance in basketball I have ever seen.

Ray has completely outplayed both his former teammates in Boston in Games 1 & 2 so far :D I knew heading into this series that Ray wanted to splash daggers into the hearts of Pierce & KG. He hasn't played this good in a while. Heck he was terrible against Charlotte in the first round

Really surprised at how petty and sad Toronto fans are. Almost hard to fathom. Must be a Canadian thing because I've never seen a fanbase so depressingly petty in the U.S.

its almost "sad" that the Nets where supposed to be our biggest threat on the road to a threepeat... if that is the huge threat... well then... yeah....

dont know.. is still kinda hope they put up a fight because i would feel unsave if this Team is not properly challanged before the Finals.. could mean a shock when getting there

im kinda like "ouuh thats too easy,i dont trust that...somethings weird here"

The Nets were never supposed to be the biggest threat to a threepeat.

A Healthy Indiana was. Whoever comes out of the West will be very tough anyway. Not sure where this overconfidence is coming from.

Quit generalizing. Just because we have some petty fans who are spamming all the general board threads, doesn't mean the entire fanbase sucks. Don't let a vocal minority skew your perception.

I'm not a D-Will fan but I really am shocked at how bad he played last night lol. As I'm sure others have stated, it's really poetic justice to see Ray Allen thriving while KG and Paul Pierce look like they should have hung it up two years ago. If you remember, Ray was the one getting pushed out of Boston when the Celts signed 2 SG's that offseason. You can tell he's taking this series personally and as a basketball fan I love it.

Isn't that what we were expecting? The Nets one main advantage is their bench but regardless of good it is, their starters also have to contribute. I'm looking forward to see if their home crowd gets up for this game. Heat should aim to crush their hopes in game 3 then blow them out in game 4.

There's just so many reasons to hate the Nets. No disrespect to the fans who support the team, but just everything about that franchise...

I don't like the following:

-Big spenders with goal to buy wins (I understand that it's vague but look at that payroll then look at the makeup of the team, desperate much?)
-Pierce/KG's relationship with Ray Allen (completely shunned him even after what they went through)
-Trying to take over NY (pretty sure Knicks fans don't appreciate it)
-Blatche (guaranteed a win even though he is in no position to), and the other kinds of trash talk (from raptor fan perspective but sure other teams will say the same)
-Positioning themselves into the lower bracket where they planned to sweep the Raptors and beat the Heat (sign of arrogance and overconfidence)
-their coach, for example Kidd complaining about flopping when the whole series they were getting away with calls; spilling the drink to cause delay; Kidd's off court background (great player though)
-Billy King is laughable (if I were a Nets fan I would be pissed at many of his transactions)
-And Lastly their Mascot

Just to list a few. I understand you could pick out the same for any other franchise, but at the end of the day the Nets still take the cake.

This series is kinda boring so far, seems like Miami is just playing with the Nets in the first 3 quarters and then turns it up in the 4th. I think it's gonna be a sweep to be honest.

He wasn't pushed out. He was offered a contract with double the money he got from Miami, there were rumors that a no-trade clause would be included but that can't be confirmed. We signed Terry as a combo guard off the bench, and we needed another SG because Bradley was going to miss significant time with his shoulder injuries. It wasn't until Ray signed with Miami that we signed Courtney Lee.

And I'm really enjoying this series so far. The Heat are clearly the better team, but watching the Nets gut it out, especially on defense, is a joy for me. I can see how lots of people don't like that style, but I think it's beautiful for me to watch elite defenses executing perfectly and the best player in the world trying to beat it. People saying dumb crap "The Heat are coasting" are obviously not watching the games very closely.

I remember it as them trying to sell Ray on coming off the bench for the Celtics all while Paul and KG had starring roles. Bradley was going to be the longtime starter at SG, which makes you wonder why Terry was even brought in. Let's say Ray does sign....now you're telling me Jason Terry was brought in to be an emergency 3rd string SG? Like they told him that when he signed? I don't buy it.

Man I feel pretty stupid for saying this series would go 7 games (picked the Heat to win in 7). I think Nets do win at least one game (probably Game 3)

Of course Ray was getting pushed out of Boston. Doc even told him he was traded to Memphis! Then had to come back 20 mins later and tell him the deal fell through

3rd string? Behind who? He'd be behind only Bradley, Terry was going to be used behind Rondo.

Wut? apparently your'e not watching the games very closely. HEAT played with 0 effort throughout 3 quarters last night. Nets were the first to all the 50/50 balls & second chance points but yet the HEAT still kept it close & just hit that switch in the 4th to blow the Nets out for the second straight game. HEAT just like the Spurs have 2 gears to shift into. They can go on a 3 minute stretch where they create a huge separation from teams enough to win games. Nets have only 1 gear & that gear barely squeezed out of the first round. The HEAT haven't even played their best basketball yet, that's what sad about it. LeBron only had to score 22 pts in 2 games that resulted in blowout loses for the Nets
