My iPhone 4 is about ready for an upgrade though... What would you do?

Wait till August, if the proposal to buy beats goes through you might atleast get better ear plugs

Are beats actually good headphones? I was under the impression that was all marketing.

I've been tempted to just walk around with my Grado opens, but I fear that might not be hip... Or maybe too hipster...

grados are way more value for money than beats. tho grados arent suited to outside listening, not unless you want to turn the volume right up and hurt your hearing

have you been to http://www.head-fi.org/?

Yes I have... Yeah, Open headphones are just for inside listening... But that's what I thought about Beats...

head-fi.org has some amazing stuff... Not sure who drops a couple grand on headphones though.

Beats are overrated. I was reading an article and there are definitely better headphones that give you more bang for your buck. Beats are not bad, but they aren't worth the price that they are sold for.

In other news I'm going to Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. Looks pretty cool. I'll take some pics and post them later.

Also happy Mother's Day for those in Central America .

You got to give props to Dr Dre. Made it from the bottom all the way to the top. I mean I cant hate on the guy even though his headphones suck. But got give credit where credit is due.

Head-fi is pretty accurate and good for headphone reviews but most of the top rated stuff look fk ugly sometimes. You do not want to go out on public wearing a breadboard on your head.

beats are not terrible headphones

they are completely overpriced and not even close to their dollar tag, but they arent bad.

Best mid range ($100-$300) headphone brands = Sennheiser, Audio Technica, Beyerdynamic, AKG, Grado

I've never been a jersey guy, but he's one guy I would make an exception for. Those babies will sell like hot cakes.

He's either going to be a huge star or flame out in a major way... He's just that divisive a person... Either he succeeds and is happy or he doesn't and drives everyone around him nuts.

It's hard to tell which yet... But I think he's going to be a star right now... If for no other reason than he's painted himself into a corner and has to at this point.

I agree on the size... I do think that will be nice. I just have been impressed with the Samsung phones etc lately and am not sure if I'm just being blindly loyal to Apple... Which might make me a chump.

apple makes really good products, theres nothing wrong with it. the only advantage android has is far superior customization and apps. but if you jailbreak your iphone (which is like mandatory if owning an iphone) then you arent that far off.

as for Beats, they are good headphones, they are just outrageously overpriced, and that comes from great marketing. like you can get a pair of sennheisers or AKGs for way less with greater sound quality, so yeah beats have a real scam going.

I don't have any experience with jailbreaking an iphone... I mean I get the concept but I've never used a pone that had that done... Why would I do that? Drawbacks?

I might as well try it on my iPhone 4... I just have a pretty amazing plan on it right now and don't want to risk losing it if something goes wrong with the Jailbreak and I have to call Verizon... They're itching for a reason to drop my unlimited data...

There are no drawbacks, you're only messing with the software and you can easily reset it back to factory settings. And your cell phone provider won't care, the only one that cares is apple. And really Apple don't care honestly, I think they've said they are secretly okay with it. But like I said you can reset it easily.

And the reasons to jailbreak are endless. Basically you're allowing your phone to download 3rd party apps that are not approved by Apple. Just makes everything better, like I've installed flux on my phone to control the brightness on the screen throughout the day. Also installed a different texting app that's much better than the standard apple one.
