Then I could see the logic. We needed 1 receiver and 1 te. It could be wise to have a backup plan in case some of your unreliable non 1st round picks, many of whom were drafted on potential, don't pan out. But 1 te, and 3 wr is unbalanced.
Almost 6'3" and nearly 220, with 4.3 speed - there is a chance they could think he could put on good weight into the 240's while still remaining a very good athlete.

Taking 3 wideouts in the draft pretty much rules out the triumphant return of Black Crabs.
