As much as I hate LeBron personality-wise, is there anybody that seriously would object him coming here? Dude is likely going to finish his career as a top-ten all time barring any huge setbacks. He's still going to produce for a while because his body is a tank (that runs on, er... Juice).

If he retires after this season (with a title of course) there is a good chance he's already top 5. Lonegivtiy is the only than left and a few more titles for him to cement himself in the top echelon(always behind Jordan too me however).

If LeBron can consistently hit the 3 and become a 3D player, I can see him being an excellent role player to round out our roster and of course compliment Durant when he comes over in 2016.

i hope LeBron fails to get a title this year and then goes back to Cleveland to try again where he failed the first time.

Re: LeBron, its a long shot, OF COURSE, but Raps can make as strong a case as an team

- LBJ is a basketball junky who watches 'every game', maybe he is sick of playing for fair weather Miami fans who leave during Game 6 of the NBA finals..... maybe he sees how rabid our fan base is and thinks it would be fun to play in that atmosphere.
- Grow his GLOBAL brand, not only as a Canadian hero, but also by working with Masai daily on African initiatives.
- Great metropolitan city, multi cultural, near Cleveland, white vegas, drake, Tim Leiweike, Masai.
- Young core is good enough to get rings now, while gives him opportunity to get rings later on in his twilight years (late 30s to 40) without having to switch teams again (unlike Kobe who is stuck with his ring count until he retires)
- We are owned by Telco giants, not a family. There may be other financial / branding opportunities that I am not thinking of.

Re: Bobcat

- Is a bigger basketball, baseball and football fan vs. hockey fan.
- Regardless of whether anyone here likes him or not, he is one of he more respected sports guys in the Toronto sports scene amongst HIS PEERS.
- I have no idea how strong his 'sources' are, or if he has any at all, but I highly doubt he would simply make something up just for the sake of it and lose face with that peer group.
- He used host business style sorts shows on TV with a laundry list of sports executives as his guest, its not unreasonable to think he has sources / network....

And some of you question whether he is needed or wanted here? Are you afraid of having multiple championships? The Jays bought thier World Series teams and no one complained then.

If you have one ounce of reservation about signing the best player on the planet and will probably end up being the GOAT then stop posting because you are either bipolar or 5 years away from getting your driver's license. Jesus Almighty.

The Raptors pride themselves on going after character guys. How can you just assume LeBron is one? Its a delicate process. People have every right to have their reservations.

For those who want to listen to it. Bobcat is saying it's no joke. The Raptors will make a run for Lebron. Unlikely Lebron signs, but money and playing with a well rounded team like the Raptors, and the best fans in the NBA could be enticing for Mr. Lebron.

Actually Bobcat has very good sources, he wouldn't throw anything out there unless there was some semblance of truth to it. Bobcat was also the first guy to publicly state that Rob Babcock was gonna get canned according to his sources and he was gone a week later. He is one of the most respected sports journalists in North America.

Not saying we are #1 on Lebrons list but if he does plan to bolt then we are on that list at the very least. The list could be 10 teams long and we could be last but at least we would be considered.

People are mistaking "going after Lebron" for "Lebron is considering Toronto."

Not according to Bobcat. He has sources Lebron wouldn't mind playing for Toronto. That tells me he will consider it.

Bobcat rarely throws out things from sources, usually not bs. He almost always has a legit source. He speaks a lot on everything and is ignorant, but he does admit it. I don't love the guy but if you listen, he a lot of the time says "I have no idea". If he says it, it means Lebron might consider Toronto. Again as another poster pointed out, we may be 10th on the list, but we're on that list regardless. I don't think the list is that big though because A, he will want to stay East and B, not many teams in the East are really viable options.

Most likely I say it is Cleveland or Miami, but who knows.

This offseason we don't have the cap space if we want to keep what we have (Lowry, Vasquez and Patterson). But there's a good chance LeBron isn't a free agent this season anyway. If he's a free agent in 2015 we should have enough cap space as long as we don't have overpay any of our free agents.

Oh give me a break. If LeBron wants to come here, you make him fit, even if you need to give away other players for a bag of chips to make it work

No, he's right. Salmons gives us just about what Lebron does and he's A LOT cheaper. We also have a rising star in Ross. No point bringing in Lebron.

Salmons gives us just about what Lebron does in as much as they both are capable of playing the game of basketball. Their capabilities diverge wildly from there.

Replacing DeRozan with LeBron makes us a title contender. Replacing any other wing (including Ross) with LeBron makes us the title favourite for the duration of whatever hypothetical contract LeBron were to sign.

Not just Canada and Africa, but also Lithuania. Remember he was already best friends with the last great Lithuanian in Cleveland and now we have the next Lithuanian superstar.

They would love him there haha!

But you do make a bunch of great points. The major thing I could see putting an end to all this talk instantly would be if they 3pete

Can the Heat still win this? Wade needs to go to the bench.

Do not disrespect the bobcat, brother. He has legitimate sources in the industry, brother. He also said the Blue Jays would have a $120 million payroll in the near future when it was sitting at $60 million at that time, brother.
