Thank You Mavs

Post#1 » by co_laper » Sun May 11, 2014 2:49 pm

After watching the post game interviews and the players being asked whether game 7 againts Dallas was a wakeup call, they all agree that it is.

So thank you Mavs. That first round series, I remember being so down on the team cause we're playing awful. If the Spurs end up winning a title, we will look back at that Game 7 as the turning point.

Yup they gave us the kick in the rear end that we needed.

I'm not getting too excited yet, this round (especially with the Mo Williams injury) has made things look promising but the next round is going to be the most important series of the playoffs. If we do this same type of mauling to our next opponent I'll thank the Mavs. It comes down to our bench.

I'd also like to thank the Mavs for waking us up. We've been the Spurs team that we saw in the regular season. Too bad it took almost two weeks into the playoffs to get there.

I think it helped that Portland and Dallas are so similar in playing style. There was a nice continuity from round to round, so few surprises for us. We have played pretty much identical games from Game 7 up until now.

Look at OKC. When they went from playing Memphis to the Clips, they got killed in Game 1, Part of it was CP3's crazy shooting night, but also the vastly different pace that the Clips play at compared to the Grizz.

Next round (presuming we get there) will be an adjustment no matter who gets through.

Once again, thank you Mavs. If it wasn't for the battle Mavs gave us, we probably wouldn't be champions.

Thank you DeJuan Blair for kicking Splitter. I might had been the differencemaker.
