Edit: We did have a Detroit fan mention the odds were like 17.6%, though I'm not sure where he got that number.

duh... i forgot to move my decimals. thats what happens when you do simply math at the beach. 19% sounds a hell of a lot better.

I get about 15.6% myself, (via reducing that 19.5% by multiplying it by the odds of Detroit not moving up too) but I'm seeing that 17.6% number mentioned a couple of places, so I must be looking at it wrong. Maybe some of the percentages of possible outcomes overlap to make it more complicated.

We need that Detroit pick this draft or we might get Portland'd again. Lol

My prediction and we can get a pool going here if anyone wants.

Pistons finish 6-7 worst in the NBA.

I believe the Celtics pass and push them to 7 and possibly the Kings push them to 6. The Kings draft ahead of them and finished one game behind.

Teams still tanking or just bad
Bucks,Philly,Orlando,Utah

Teams that are playoff teams
Miami,Indy,OKC,LAC,HOU,MEM,CHI,Wiz,CHA,GS,POR,TOR,DAL,SA,PHX,BRK

Teams that probably wont tank but might not be playoff caliber ( borderline teams)
NYK,DET,ATL,Minny,NOP,SAC,Lakers,DEN

50/50 teams (might tank, might not who knows)
BOS,CLE

I'd put the Pistons in the middle of the "borderline teams" behind NYK (depends on Melo), Minny,ATL and LAL (depends on FA) and ahead of DEN,SAC and NOP

and we would have to update our guesses when FA is over, its hard to accurately "guess" how good/bad a team will be in May

This upcoming season.

I believe the teams above them improve on par or more while the Celtics and/or Kings jump ahead.

a whole season of waiting/stressing isn't worth 2-3 spots up in a weaker draft, i hope the Lotto gods continue to shine down on Cleveland so we get the pick this draft

this years draft also has players that fit better with us i think, next years draft is very C/PF heavy and we already have our C and PF (Biz hopefully) and Zeller

I'll remember to quote you on it. I can't say for sure how much better the Pistons will be next season until I see how they shake up the roster but I'm almost certain they won't be in the top 10 of the lottery unless injuries devastate them during the season.

Perhaps but what about other teams and how they view the player(s) available at 6 or 7 for their needs? Would they be interested in a trade?

What about trading packaging pick 6 or 7 with our pick to move up and take Mudiay?

You're talking to a UConn fan about a team with terrible guard play.

I stand by my prediction.
