We have to get behind CP3 as a fan base

Post#1 » by Quake Griffin » Wed May 14, 2014 5:52 pm

we need this guy. We cannot have this guy sulking Thursday night or feeling bad for himself.

it's not fair to the guys....but I understand that he is stunned and shocked.
but the man took a chance on us and waived his no trade clause, opted in for the 2nd year....signed a 5 year deal here.

he could have waited in NOLA for free agency and then signed elsewhere.
he didn't....i have the utmost respect for this guy and as far as you can with a sports athlete, I love the guy.

he screwed up at the end of Game 5....no lie.
but I still trust him and we still need him tomorrow and hopefully for a Game 7.
we must get behind him and this team. We bounced back from Sterling....we must bounce back from this.

Despite the rage from last night fail I doubt Paul let's us go out at home. Everything he is as a player will be on the line game 6. Game 7 is a different beast but Clips should have 6 .

I've seen him sound down after losses but he seemed so distraught yesterday. I truly don't know if he's going to be all there mentally for Game 6.

I'm hoping he is. We need him. One game...Game 6. we need a W.

I think he blew the game last night.
I still think he's the best PG in the league (or top 3), and am 100% behind him.

not gonna lie....im watching the game at my friends house from Oklahoma.
our buddy gets back from studying and Im raving about how this guy has not turned the ball over....and like instantly, he had that 3 turnover 2nd half....like when I said it.

I'm truly used to him being a step ahead of the game, the smartest person on the floor etc. etc.
so it did hurt me, as a fan, to watch him try that fail 3 quarter court shot, foul russell and lose the ball (he got fouled) at the end.

i still trust the guy and I still have faith in him to come through in the clutch. He has a pit bull mentality and is so focused and intent on winning, I truly don't think the game bothers him like that late. I truly think the game just kind of escaped him at the last portion of the game.

i dunno.
but he needs to pick himself up off the floor....going to peep his interview now to see if he sounds like a person ready to play tomorrow.

sounds a little better than he did at last night's press conference where he had his head held down most of the time.

I've always been behind CP3. I won't stop now.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Off topic:
I'm so sorry the refs screwed you guys over. A 90 year old grandma can see on the replay who touched the ball last. I will never understand the NBA. It's truly rigged on many levels.

it was even just the Jackson call. CP3 was fouled on the last play- Jackson grabbed his arm. It was certainly more of a foul than the Westbrook foul

CP3 is a much bigger person than I could ever be, to take the blame and hold himself accountable for what had happened last night.

for a few moments today, i even thought about flying down to LA and rent the biggest SUV i can get my hands on and look to find Donald and Shelly to run over... then back up... then run over again. but only after I find Tony Brothers and Adam Silver to do it first on them.

Glad CP3 can man up and not blame what actually had happened that was out of his control that gave away the game.
ehhhhh f it.

In his defense, he got fouled on the very last play so technically it was a good play by him, the refs just didn't call it.

I give him props for owning up. We really should've never been in a spot where that call hurt us. We screwed up at the end, and cp's stupid jump 3 point attempt thing when he lost the ball was idiotic. If he holds the ball there instead, makes his FTs, this wouldn't have been an issue honestly.

Tom Haberstroh digs into the numbers to see how clutch Chris Paul has been in his playoff career and why Game 5 was an anomaly.

Let's not let the narrative get away from us. We all saw and felt the last minute. The refs united against us. I feel like when it happened there was an explosion around the internet of "rigged! cheated!" and then the dust settled, and people over analyzed and changed the narrative to "refs were right, CP failed".

Hold on.

The foul on the 3 point shot? In real time, that call looked blasphemous. CP barely tapped him. Not sure how many molecules of his even graced Westbrook's arm. I consider that a bad call, and seeing as they called it in real time, a damn near desperate call. I don't see how you can find that a foul unless you analyze frame by frame.

The Jackson out of bounds? Unconscionable. No matter how you slice it. Ball went off of Jackson's right hand, which Barnes never touched. Technicalities aside, everyone watching knew it was Clip's ball and were outraged when it wasn't.

Then CP got fouled on the last play, loses the ball, then TRIES TO FOUL IBAKA and no call! This is where it started to seem like the refs had a united front. Just get the game over right refs?

I wasn't even upset watching it because I was taken out of the game. It felt like any team in those circumstances would flounder. Obviously there are plenty of things we could have done differently, but all this to say, I'm not even mad at Chris Paul. We just needed the refs to have their heads screwed on straight for one of those four calls. Just one!

lol, i feel you....anybody posting the photo of Chris getting him on the arm is truly ignoring the fact that the refs (98%) didn't see that. He saw the miss and blew it.

he guessed right. so i wont bitch about it too much.

Reggie Jackson hitting him on the arm was just as much if not more of a dumb foul on CP as Cp's foul was. Well....CP has to live with his dumb foul and Reggie does not.

GO CP! We need you tonight....with a very short memory. What is game 5? WE DONT KNOW!

CP will be fine. Getting down on yourself for past mistakes is often tied to low testosterone. Not always, but commonly. CP probably doesn't have that problem.

Ya even cp said he didn't think Reggie fouled him. He didn't even know he was there til he saw the replay

It wasn't just you, they were talking about it on TV too during the game, how few turnovers he's had (don't remember if it was for the series or the entire playoffs.)

He just got a little too clever for his own good.
