Actually come to think of it, it feels eerily similar to the Pheonix Suns playoff game from a few years ago. We had the lead and looked like we were going to win but Cassell slowly dribbles up the court while smiling and gets called for 8 seconds. Unforced turnover. Then I think it was the same game, Dumbleavy puts Daniel Ewing on Raja Bell, Bell pushes off and nails a three and we end up losing in the end (OT?). Hope this is not another second round defeat in a highly winnable series.

i have given it a thought thanks to quick thinking of MK and #2 shutting that game thread down, otherwise Im pretty sure Angel and I would have been banned for foul language and personal attacks, but even this morning I had told my employees that I will never watch NBA, and the first (poor) patient had to hear me actually say "**** NBA" twice.

anywho.

nevermind a thought. I was thinking about it all day. then i have finally calmed down a bit, and put into perspective. this is the clipper moment of the "tuck rule" that ruined what could have been for the raiders more than a decade ago. I am still pissed about that event and still feel it should have been us and Al's last laugh that he so deserved, along with Tim Brown, Rich Gannon, the Sr Steve Wiznewski, even Howie. but it didn't happen for us, and instead, it opened up the Brady Era.

in some capacity, all professional sports have their commissioner's favorites. it is simply that the basketball is the easiest to fix. a football requires 22 players without counting the special team. baseball a 9. if you buy the QB or a starting pitcher, the managers can simply pull them. you can buy the refs or umpire, and they can make a big impact, but not to the extend of what NBA refs can do, or a single or two star players can do to fix a game. therefore the result will always amplify much louder.

I still have no idea if i can ever be too excited about NBA, but my love for this Clippers franchise, will always be undying kind.
ehhhhh f it.

Tuck rule is the exact analogy my boss used tonight when we were talking about it

well your boss must be around my age and a raider fan. in so many ways, last night has brought so much negative emotions that i associated with the tuck rule. the last minutes of the game, Charles Woodson making a cornerback blitz from the outer edge, knocks the ball out of the QB's hand around 1/3 way from our end zone with just a hair ahead of the Pats, ending their drive and we recover the fumble... we just won the game, and we are supposed to go to the big dance for big Al, every raider fan rejoicing, then...... comes the refs.. and the goddamn tuck rule which never before or since have been called.

If the Clips never get to the Finals from now on, CP3 will be our Rich Gannon, Blake will be our Tim Brown.
ehhhhh f it.

to this day I still don't understand the rule and I don't want to tbh.

Brady pumped, got hit and fumbled.
brb dumb rule says it wasn't a fumble.

do you see the similarities tho?

Al Davis, the hated owner of the Raiders who have sued NFL after moving to LA from Oakland without the league's permission. Donald Sterling, a hated bastard period, who once threatened to sue NBA when NBA fined him 25 million dollars for moving the team from San Diego to LA without the league's permission, until David Stern lowered the fines all the way down to 6 million.

The Raiders of Rich Gannon era, was a team full of vets with chips on their shoulders, other than original draftee superstars of the Raiders, Tim Brown and Wisnewski.
The Clippers of today, is a team full of vets with chips on their shoulders led by CP3, other than the original draftees with potential for superstardom in Blake and DJ.

The Raiders could not overcome the league's soon to be the next big thing, Tom Brady.
The Clippers have their backs against the wall, fighting the league's next big thing, Kevin Durant.

Touche?
ehhhhh f it.
