The NBA would really like LeBron and Durant to be the lead actor and actress in the drama this season. MVP no.1 and MVP no.2 going head to head.
Thanks for the honesty.MorbidHEAT wrote:My dislike for Lin started during Linsanity. It was absurd. It's probably irrational dislike at this point, but man he gets on my nerves. He's been tearing us up though.

Ranma wrote:Not only does the NBA misinterpret the rule used to justify the bad call after-the-fact, which wasn't even cited at the time of the call, but officiating crew chief, Tony Brothers, apparently lied about what replays they saw to review the play. I don't have video to confirm this but I wouldn't be surprised if that was indeed the case.
Steve Perrin, Clips Nation (5/14/14)But there's a more basic problem here: crew chief Tony Brothers lied. After the game, in justifying the call, Brothers stated: "We saw two replays. The two replays we saw were from the overhead camera showing down, and the one from from under the basket showing the same angle but from a different view. And from those two replays it was inconclusive as to who the ball went out of bounds off of bounds off of."
But on the TNT broadcast, at 9:52:53 PM PT, the VERY FIRST REPLAY shown to the officiating crew comes from the sideline camera. The TNT cameras show the crew at the monitor, and you can see the replay commencing -- not the overhead view, not the baseline view, the sideline view.
Now, to my mind, all three views show plenty of evidence that the ball was off of Jackson. But Brothers and his crew did see the sideline view; we know they say [sic] it, we see them see it! Which means that Brothers felt he needed plausible deniability on the decision, and he lied. Which seems... shall we say, problematic.

Boy am I glad that you chose to join this board when you did, this post is golden and we may not have been informed about these facts behind the Sport Entertainment business that is NBA. Now I feel bad for Tim Donoghe. all he ever did wrong, relative to his peers, was getting caught.
ehhhhh f it.

Why am I not surprised that the league won't own up to such a controversial act of incompetence. Again, it was not just that play but quite a few throughout the game: the out-of-bounds replay, the misinterpretation of the clear-path foul, and the phantom foul on Westbrook's 3-point miss.
Sure they're willing to own up to mistakes when there's little on the line but they can't even bring themselves to admit that they were wrong no matter how obvious it is to most everyone outside of Oklahoma City who watched the national telecast. F U N D A, NBA!

Is anybody else infuriated by the relative lack of media coverage this scandal is getting? Seems like everybody is just blaming the loss on the Clippers and downplaying the bad calls. Is it the TV contracts that make them shut up about this? They don't want to reveal that the NBA is a tarnished product? Seems like a big cover up to me- citing a rule that doesn't even apply in this scenario and then saying the review was inconclusive. Smart minds that can actually think for themselves can see through this garbage and see what it is- a cover up

there's nothing new under the sun man.
wherever there is a bad call that screws a team over, there's a huge pocket of the sports world, not invested in the game/ pulling for the opposing team pointing out every mistake/ chance that the team that got screwed over had.
theory: if you were perfect (like all teams that play sports are) you wouldn't be in that position.

It's frustrating that i'm not seeing any articles calling this game controversial instead they are praising OKC for never giving up blah blah. Also Doc Rivers gets a fine where I think the NBA should get a fine for being wrong.
