As a backup? Sure. As a long term starter, he doesn't make any sense. On the court flaws aside, he's 32 already. We are building around a 20 yr old man-child. We need to bring in guys that are going to grow with him.

From my experience, Meer is towards the end of his career. Every year, he is battling injuries and misses many games. Plus, he is as bad if not worse than Jennings on Defense. But, Meer is great at pick n roll and a solid leader. He does like to shoot the contested 3 point hero ball style though but is more accurate than most while he is solid in clutch situations. If anything, Meer will be a backup wherever he goes.
