Plays the 3 and will be a bit undersized at the 3 in the NBA. Weak handle, ok shot. His value resides in his defensive abilities and his athleticism. He's an excellent shot blocker, rebounder and team defender. Has great 3 & D potential, similar to a smaller version of Kahwi Leonard. Part of what makes Kahwi great is his length though so that's a bit of an issue for McDaniels. Also while being extremely athletic in terms of leaping ability, timing and agility I find him to be somewhat slow footed for a guy his size which is why he will need to spend the majority of his time guarding the 3.

Yeah, his offensive game is all decent to below average. He scored a lot and on decent efficiency, but his handle and shot aren't what make him an attractive prospect. His defensive potential is where it's at. He's a really good athlete, and blocked an absurd number of shots for a 6'6" perimeter player, more than a number of centers in this year's draft. He will have to be more consistent on that end though, and work on his shot. It isn't terrible, but it could use a bit of work. He did show a massive improvement in his free throw shooting (from his freshman year 58% to 84% this year), so there is some hope for him as a shooter.

Reminds me of Iguodala when he came into the league, but without that amazing wing span.

The style of play is athletic and defensive-focused.

Not saying he's the "next Iggy", but rookie to rookie comparisons aren't terrible.

I like him. He seems to have a low bust potential. Very likely he'll be a rotational player. He would be a great fit on a team like Minnesota. His defense would be a welcomed commodity. His shot isn't terrible and he'll have a lot of chances to be open with a guy like Rubio.

His defense is great, an exceptional rim protector and plays the passing lanes well. With the perimeter defense he brings, the Wolves would be a tough defensive team on the 3 point line.

i think his perimeter defense is overrated. he relaxes on his man and doesn't always look locked in. his lateral quickness isn't good either. imo, his man defense lags far behind his off the ball defense.

i don't think he has much bust potential, but then again i also have him rated as a 2nd round pick.

I think he's similar to Thabo Sefolosha (but not quite that tall or long). A really good defender just a step or 2 below someone like Tony Allen. On the right team he could be a very valuable role player capable of challenging perimeter players and maybe even contributing with some weakside shot blocking.

I think being on a poor Clemson team forced him to play a role that he isn't good at. He consistently shoots 50% from the field, impressive if you ask me.

Reminds me of another Clemson player that went in the 20's - Trevor Booker

Not going to blow anyone away with offensive ability but great energy player providing solid defense, rebounding and highlight reel dunks.
